Technical Project Manager

At Experient, we provide experience, technology, and transformation support to our clients, creating a dynamic work environment. We value collaboration, prioritize effective communication, and focus on delivering results quickly and practically. Whether you’re looking to deepen your expertise or take on new challenges, we’re here to support your journey every step of the way.

We are seeking a Technical Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will lead the delivery of technology initiatives that bring business strategy to life within financial services. You will serve as a Technical Project Manager on client engagements, guiding cross-functional teams as they implement strategies across credit card, fraud prevention, collections and lending portfolios, and ensuring each release is high quality, well governed and tied to business priorities.

The ideal candidate pairs a strong understanding of banking and lending with disciplined Agile delivery and has a proven track record of turning complex requirements into well-planned, on-time releases. This is a highly collaborative, client-facing consulting role requiring the ability to bring clarity to technical work, keep diverse stakeholders aligned and navigate the regulatory expectations that shape financial services environments.

Location: Dallas, TX or Charlotte, NC; Hybrid work environment.

What You'll Do

  • Own technical initiatives from start to finish, partnering with client stakeholders to shape project scope, objectives and a clear vision for delivery.
  • Translate business strategy into actionable work by breaking requirements down into well-defined tasks, user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Develop and maintain technical requirements documentation and process flow diagrams that give engineering, QA and business teams a shared view of the solution.
  • Build and manage a prioritized backlog that reflects business value, customer impact and shifting client priorities.
  • Lead Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups and retrospectives, and help the team set sprint goals that ladder up to project outcomes.
  • Map the critical path, estimate timelines and organize team capacity to keep delivery efficient and predictable.
  • Plan and coordinate releases in Jira and Airtable, determining release timing and securing stakeholder sign-off on requirements, data contracts and deployments.
  • Partner with development and QA teams to confirm technical requirements and quality standards are met before each release.
  • Define and track project milestones, reporting progress, risks and issues to client and Experient leadership on a regular cadence.
  • Manage daily and weekly deliverables, escalating blockers early and clearly communicating the impact of defects and risks to stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen delivery practices, tooling and processes across the team.
  • Support onboarding of new team members and help allocate resources across initiatives as project needs evolve.

What You'll Bring

  • 6-10+ years of technical project management experience delivering software or technology initiatives.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, information systems or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in banking, credit or lending environments strongly preferred; exposure to credit card, fraud, collections or lending strategy a plus.
  • Working knowledge of financial services regulations and how they shape technology delivery.
  • Hands-on experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, with a Scrum certification (such as CSM or PSM) earned or in progress.
  • Proficiency with Jira and Airtable for backlog, sprint and release management.
  • Skilled at writing user stories, acceptance criteria and process documentation for technical audiences.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues, defects and their business impact to stakeholders at every level.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and quality.
  • Familiarity with Decision Model and Notation (DMN) preferred.
  • Treats everyone including clients, colleagues and partners, as their customer.
  • Self-motivated to make meaningful impacts and deliver positive outcomes with their work.
  • Motivated by career progression and actively works toward the next level.
  • A constant learner who stays curious about new platforms, practices and business models.
  • Considers no task beneath them and contributes at whatever level the engagement requires.
