Each day is a new journey, as we bring an exciting vision to life. With significant capital investment in new, improved infrastructure, there’s never been a better time to expand your potential at Sydney Airport. The range of responsibilities and diverse pathways you can take on with us, are surprising.
We are SYD. United in the pride that comes with welcoming the world at Australia’s premier gateway.
About the role
We’re looking for a Senior Technology Assurance Specialist with deep technology knowledge to play an important role in strengthening assurance across Sydney Airport’s technology environment. You’ll independently assess whether technology and cybersecurity controls are appropriately designed, implemented and operating effectively, which means having the technical depth to understand the environments you’re assessing and confidently challenge the evidence in front of you.
This is a broad role that will see you work across different areas of technology, projects and suppliers, identifying control weaknesses and helping drive meaningful improvements. You’ll thrive in an environment where responsibilities aren’t always neatly defined, bringing curiosity, sound judgement and a willingness to get into the detail to understand how technology and its controls really operate.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to
- Design and deliver independent technology assurance activities across IT and operational technology environments.
- Assess controls across infrastructure, cloud, networks, identity services, applications and security technologies.
- Apply your technical knowledge to critically assess evidence, identify weaknesses and challenge whether controls are genuinely effective.
- Identify control and compliance gaps and work with stakeholders to ensure remediation appropriately addresses the underlying risk.
- Lead assurance activities with technology suppliers and service providers, challenging evidence and influencing remediation outcomes.
- Provide technology assurance across projects and change initiatives, while delivering clear, evidence-based reporting to support decision-making.
- Maintain complete assurance documentation and support internal audits, external audits, certification programs and other assurance activities.
About you
- Ideally 8–10 years’ experience across technology assurance, cybersecurity, technology risk, IT audit or a closely related technology discipline.
- Strong, broad technology knowledge is essential, with the depth to understand and assess controls across cloud, infrastructure, networks, applications, identity and security technologies.
- Experience working in smaller, agile teams, where the boundaries of your role haven’t always been clearly defined and you’ve taken ownership across a broad remit.
- Strong experience conducting technology assurance assessments, control testing and critically evaluating technical evidence.
- The confidence and credibility to challenge technical teams, suppliers and senior stakeholders when controls or evidence don’t meet expectations.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience, with certifications such as CISA, CRISC, CISSP or ISO 27001 Lead Auditor highly regarded.
