Test Engineer – Integrated Planning & Forecasting

Location: Schiphol area, Netherlands

Working hours: 36 hours per week

Working pattern: Hybrid

Start: ASAP

Contract: Initial assignment until November 2027


Education: HBO / higher professional education level


About the Role

We are looking for a Test Engineer – Integrated Planning & Forecasting to help develop and maintain business-critical applications that support airport operations.

The Integrated Planning & Forecasting platform consists of several applications supporting passenger-flow forecasting and asset planning across areas such as:

  • Terminal operations
  • Airside operations
  • Baggage
  • Gate/stand planning
  • Bus planning
  • Check-in and baggage reclaim

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary Agile team consisting of business analysts, architects, information analysts, test engineers, DevOps engineers, product owners and application management professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritise test conditions
  • Write test cases for Gate/Stand, Bus and Baggage applications
  • Set up and maintain test data
  • Perform functional and non-functional testing
  • Set up and execute regression and integration tests
  • Work closely with different teams and departments
  • Create test reports and document test findings
  • Support application issue and support processes
  • Optimise testing processes
  • Set up and maintain test automation
  • Execute tests for application releases, OS patching and lifecycle management
  • Create automated tests that can run through Azure DevOps or GitHub pipelines
  • Contribute to increasing test automation, particularly for regression testing
  • Develop automated tests using Playwright

Requirements

  • HBO-level education and professional thinking
  • ISTQB Foundation certification
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with test frameworks
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a tester in an Agile environment
  • Strong experience with functional and integration testing
  • Minimum 3 years of experience setting up test automation frameworks and writing automated tests
  • Experience with Playwright or a comparable automation framework
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Experience with Splunk or similar tools for analysing metrics, traces and logs
  • Experience with Postman for API testing
  • Experience with Java and/or JavaScript frameworks for test automation
  • Basic understanding of modern cloud and web technologies
  • Structured and methodical approach
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership
  • Ability to work across multiple applications
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in an Agile environment
  • Proficient in both Dutch and English

Working Environment

The role operates on a hybrid basis, combining remote work with working from an office/collaborative workspace. Regular interaction and collaboration with colleagues are an important part of the role.
