Senior Test Engineer (QA / Automation)

Zip Zap IT is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to lead test automation and quality assurance efforts for the Committee Portal platform. The engineer will ensure system reliability through automated and manual testing aligned with Agile delivery cycles.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop and maintain automated test suites using Cucumber, Selenium and/or Playwright

· Execute functional, regression, and release validation testing

· Validate system functionality against user stories and acceptance criteria

· Collaborate with developers and business analysts to refine acceptance criteria

· Diagnose test failures and support defect resolution

· Contribute to test strategy, coverage, and continuous improvement

Required Qualifications

· 7+ years of QA/test engineering experience

· Experience with test automation frameworks (Cucumber, Selenium, Playwright)

· Experience validating applications against Agile user stories and acceptance criteria

· Experience with both manual and automated testing approaches

· Experience supporting release validation in Agile environments

· Experience in federal or legislative systems

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes, AKS)

· Experience migrating legacy test frameworks to modern tools (e.g., Playwright)

· Experience testing microservices and API-driven systems

· Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated test integration
