Role Overview

Broadridge is seeking a Senior Trading Applications Engineer to support and enhance critical trading technology platforms across OMS, EMS, portfolio management, market data, and post-trade environments.

This is a hands-on engineering role responsible for production support, troubleshooting, systems integration, and platform optimization across complex trading ecosystems. You will work closely with traders, portfolio managers, operations teams, vendors, and engineers to investigate issues, analyze trade flows, improve system reliability, and support business-critical applications in a fast-paced financial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced support for trading, OMS, EMS, portfolio management, market data, and post-trade platforms.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot issues across the full trade lifecycle, from order creation and execution through settlement, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Perform root cause analysis for trade breaks, allocation failures, booking issues, reconciliation discrepancies, and data quality concerns.
  • Troubleshoot applications, APIs, FIX connectivity, databases, middleware, market data feeds, and vendor integrations.
  • Use SQL to investigate incidents, validate data, perform reconciliations, and support operational reporting.
  • Monitor and support integrations involving APIs, messaging platforms, batch processes, and real-time data feeds.
  • Partner with market data providers and vendors to resolve technical and data-related issues.
  • Review application code to understand business logic, diagnose defects, and support enhancements.
  • Develop automation, monitoring, and operational tooling to improve platform stability and support effectiveness.
  • Support software releases, regression testing, deployment validation, and platform improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, support, and business teams to resolve high-priority incidents.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex technical and production-related issues.

Your Profile

  • 5+ years of experience supporting trading systems, financial technology platforms, or enterprise applications within capital markets environments.
  • Strong experience with OMS, EMS, portfolio management, market data, or post-trade systems.
  • Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries, data analysis, reconciliation, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience reviewing and troubleshooting code written in C#, VB.NET, Java, Python, or similar languages.
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end trading lifecycle across front-, middle-, and back-office functions.
  • Knowledge of financial instruments such as equities, fixed income, FX, and derivatives.
  • Experience supporting FIX connectivity and electronic trading workflows.
  • Proven ability to investigate trade breaks, settlement issues, allocation failures, and cross-system data discrepancies.
  • Familiarity with APIs, distributed systems, messaging platforms, and systems integrations.
  • Experience working with market data and reference data providers such as Bloomberg, ICE Data Services, Refinitiv, or similar.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills in high-pressure production environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work directly with business users, technical teams, and external vendors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in buy-side trading environments or electronic trading platforms.
  • Exposure to market connectivity, exchange integrations, or low-latency systems.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Familiarity with Tableau or other reporting and analytics tools.
  • Experience with automation, observability tooling, AI-assisted operations, or intelligent monitoring solutions.
