About the Opportunity We are seeking a Senior Traffic Electrical Design (TED) Engineer to join our well-established and growing transportation team in the Pacific Northwest. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to help expand our roadway illumination, traffic signal, and ITS practice across Washington and Oregon, with the opportunity to grow into becoming the leader of our Pacific Northwest TED team. The role will also support and mentor the next generation of engineers. In this role, you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary transportation teams, contribute to major infrastructure pursuits and delivery, and play a key role in the long-term growth and leadership of our TED practice. Your Role on the Team: Lead and deliver traffic signal, roadway illumination, and ITS design projects Collaborate across offices and regions to strengthen TED technical excellence Support transportation project pursuits, client development, and business growth Mentor and supervise junior engineering staff Coordinate with project managers, roadway engineers, and agency stakeholders Support project delivery for local agency and state DOT transportation improvements Contribute to strategic growth and future leadership of the TED practice in Washington and Oregon What You Bring to the Team: 10+ years of experience in traffic signal, roadway illumination, and/or ITS design Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington or Oregon required Experience working with WSDOT, ODOT, or equivalent agency standards General understanding of roadway design and multidisciplinary transportation projects Strong communication and leadership skills Experience leading technical tasks and supporting project delivery Ability to track and deliver many concurrent projects Experience with winning TED focused project pursuits Interest in mentoring staff and growing into a leadership role Ability to occasionally attend in-person meetings, site visits, and collaborate with teams in your local Pacific Northwest office Why Join Parametrix? Salary Range $140,000 — $190,000 USD Compensation is determined by factors such as education, experience, location, and role.
