  • Research public funding opportunities and support grant applications and implementation strategies.
  • Participate in field visits and community travel throughout Alaska.
  • Support project coordination, proposal development, and business growth initiatives.

What you Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in planning, Geography, Public Administration, Environmental Studies, Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in transportation, community, regional, or infrastructure planning, ideally supporting public agencies, municipalities, Tribal organizations, or DOT-related programs.
  • Strong writing, communication, research, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Interest in working directly with communities, stakeholders, and agency partners.
  • Ability to travel to communities and project sites within Alaska as needed.
  • Collaborative mindset, intellectual curiosity, and a willingness to take on new challenges.
  • Commitment to improving mobility, safety, infrastructure, and quality of life in Alaska communities.
  • Experience with GIS, mapping, data visualization, graphic design, or presentation tools.
  • Experience with transportation safety plans, corridor studies, multimodal planning, community plans, or public engagement.
  • Familiarity with public-sector grants, funding programs, or proposal development.
  • Experience working with Alaska communities, Tribal organizations, local governments, or state agencies.
