Our culture is built on care, passion and curiosity. We put people above all else, strive to be our best and welcome new ideas to deliver positive outcomes.
This is a unique opportunity to help shape how our brand comes to life through digital experiences. As a UX Designer, you will work across the organization, partnering with business, brand, marketing and technology stakeholders to create engaging, intuitive and accessible digital experiences.
This role goes beyond creating designs. You will have the opportunity to bring your ideas to life, taking experiences from concept and design through to digital execution. You will translate business and user needs into thoughtful user journeys, wireframes, prototypes and polished digital experiences that reflect our brand and experience standards.
We are looking for someone who combines creativity with a strong hands-on digital mindset. You are curious, collaborative and comfortable working with diverse stakeholders. You bring strong UX fundamentals, attention to detail and a passion for continually improving how clients, advisors and employees experience our brand digitally.
Join one of the region’s top employers and be part of something that truly makes a difference.
Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.
What you’ll do:
- Design intuitive, responsive and accessible digital experiences from concept through implementation.
- Translate business, user and brand needs into user journeys, wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs.
- Assist in leading the governance of scalable Figma design systems, including component libraries, design foundations and reusable digital patterns.
- Translate corporate brand and accessibility requirements into practical digital standards and provide guidance to UX designers and business teams to drive consistent adoption.
- Apply strong visual, interaction and responsive design principles across digital experiences.
- Bring designs to life through hands-on digital production, including Ceros Studio, working from design through execution.
- Collaborate with business, marketing, technology, agile teams and external partners to deliver cohesive digital experiences.
- Conduct user research, usability testing and design validation, using insights and digital performance measures to continuously improve experiences.
- Partner across Corporate, Investments, Insurance and Group Benefits to strengthen consistency across digital experiences.
- Stay current on user experience, accessibility and digital design trends, bringing forward new ideas and opportunities to evolve our digital brand experience.
What you’ll bring:
- Three or more years of experience in UX, digital or product design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating responsive digital experiences.
- Advanced expertise in Figma and design systems, including experience creating and maintaining scalable component libraries, design foundations and reusable digital patterns.
- Strong visual design fundamentals with experience in interaction design, mobile-first and responsive web design.
- Strong understanding of digital accessibility and inclusive design practices, with experience using accessibility testing tools such as Axe.
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS, with an understanding of how design translates into front-end digital experiences.
- Experience working with content management systems and digital publishing workflows.
- Experience with Ceros Studio, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn digital production tools and bring designs from concept through execution.
- Strong understanding of user-centred design practices, including user research, usability testing, prototyping and design validation.
- Ability to translate business, brand and user requirements into simple, engaging and scalable digital experiences.
- Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and provide UX guidance to designers and business partners.
- Curiosity and passion for digital design, emerging technologies and continually improving the user experience.
- Experience working within Agile teams and ways of working.
