At eBay, we're more than a global ecommerce leader — we’re changing the way the world shops and sells. Our platform empowers millions of buyers and sellers in more than 190 markets around the world. We’re committed to pushing boundaries and leaving our mark as we reinvent the future of ecommerce for enthusiasts.
Our customers are our compass, authenticity thrives, bold ideas are welcome, and everyone can bring their unique selves to work — every day. We're in this together, sustaining the future of our customers, our company, and our planet.
Join a team of passionate thinkers, innovators, and dreamers — and help us connect people and build communities to create economic opportunity for all.
About the team and the role:
An eBay subsidiary, TCGplayer is on a quest to be the most trusted trading card game (TCG) platform — connecting and empowering the hobby community. Trading card games are a $25B global market that creates community connection through in-person games (Pokémon; Magic: The Gathering; Yu-Gi-Oh!; etc.). Founded by TCG enthusiasts, we operate a global marketplace, and create tools, technologies and solutions that help individuals and small businesses profitably sell TCGs at scale.
As a Senior User Experience Designer, you will apply your domain expertise and knowledge of UX best-practices to drive high-impact product improvements across our TCGplayer ecosystem including our mobile and desktop marketplace, seller tools and customer service representative workflows. You will join us as we explore emerging design-to-code workflows and AI-augmented design tools, helping to shape how we work. In this design role, you will partner with cross-functional peers to design and deliver user-centered solutions for both buyers and sellers.
Our User Experience Design team prides itself on creating a culture that fosters camaraderie, embraces diversity, and exudes passion. We value curiosity, craft, and a desire to directly interact with the real world. You don’t have to be a hobbyist or gamer to love working in TCGplayer’s UX Design organization, but you should be comfortable with ambiguity and eager to amplify our steadfast commitment to making hobbies and games accessible, fun, and rewarding for everyone. If you’re equal parts “empathy” and “ambition,” this is an opportunity to take risks and stretch yourself, surrounded by teammates who will support you along the way.
What you will accomplish:
- Create UX deliverables throughout the design process, evolving designs from early concepts, wireframes, and prototypes to final specifications
- Deliver high-value features across multiple projects, ensuring design solutions support user needs, align with business goals, and positively impact key performance metrics
- Apply advanced knowledge of Figma to create, iterate, and hand off design assets while working within an established design system
- Demonstrate fluency with modern AI tools and methods, applying them thoughtfully across the design process and broader workflow to accelerate exploration, iteration, collaboration, and delivery
- Collaborate with product and engineering teammates to deliver high-quality solutions that drive value, inform product strategy, and support data-driven decision-making
- Participate in user testing, workshops, and research efforts to gather insights and validate design decisions
- Obtain leadership approval and team alignment through compelling storytelling that clearly communicates your ideas and design rationale
What you will bring:
- 7+ years of experience in a dedicated User Experience Design role, with a bachelor’s degree in Design, Human–Computer Interaction (HCI), or equivalent practical experience
- Strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end, user-centered design solutions with measurable impact across both mobile applications and desktop web experiences
- Demonstrated experience designing intuitive mobile experiences for iOS and/or Android, including understanding of Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design
- Demonstrated experience designing desktop web experiences, including responsive layouts, complex interactions, information-dense interfaces, and multi-step workflows
- Experience designing for both consumer-facing and enterprise products is strongly preferred, with an understanding of how user needs, behaviors, and design approaches differ across these contexts
- Demonstrated understanding of accessible and inclusive design principles, including WCAG guidelines and platform-specific accessibility standards
- Advanced proficiency in Figma and experience creating, iterating, documenting, and handing off design assets within an established design language system
- Fluency with modern AI tools and methods, demonstrated through active, thoughtful application of AI across the design workflow
- Comfort working in technical environments and alongside engineering tools, emerging technologies, and AI-augmented product-development workflows
- Extensive experience using research, usability testing, and quantitative and qualitative data to inform design decisions across mobile and desktop experiences
- Extensive experience working in an agile, multidisciplinary environment alongside designers, product managers, software engineers, researchers, and stakeholders
- Proven ability to lead all aspects of a design project within a software-development environment, from strategy and discovery through execution, launch, measurement, and ongoing iteration
- Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, presentation, and communication skills
Preferred qualifications
- Familiarity with the gaming, hobby, or collectibles community — particularly trading card games
- Experience designing products for a North American markets
- Experience designing internal tools such as customer support interfaces
