As a Senior UX Researcher at Global App Testing, you will own our most complex studies and client accounts: you set the research approach, guide the team through delivery and make sure every insight is sound and useful. You will also mentor other researchers and help shape how we do research. You will join our team in Cluj-Napoca and work directly with product teams around the world.

You will lead several UX research studies at a time, from the first client brief to the final recommendations, and own the relationship with key clients. Studies range from usability tests and in-depth interviews to multi-market surveys and diary studies.

Role Responsibilities & Expectations

Design the research

• Turn client business goals into a research strategy, choosing the right method for each question
• Design, build and review screeners and surveys (Qualtrics or similar)
• Work with cross-functional teams to identify and evaluate new research topics

Recruit and run the study

• Set recruitment criteria, screen participant lists and choose the right people from our global community
• Track participant progress, spot delays early and replace participants when needed
• Plan and moderate interviews, usability sessions and focus groups

Turn data into insights

• Brief report writers and manage report timelines
• Review and analyse summary reports so every insight is valid, accurate and answers the original study objectives
• Present findings and clear recommendations to client product teams and senior stakeholders

Own the client relationship and delivery

• Be the main day-to-day contact for clients on your studies and answer their questions quickly
• Keep all stakeholders updated and project status records accurate
• Identify risks across projects and agree mitigation plans with the team
• Suggest and help roll out improvements to how we run research

Lead and mentor

• Coach and review the work of other researchers and report writers
• Set quality standards for screeners, surveys and reports across the team
• Help define research methods, templates and best practices
• Act as the research expert in pre-sales and scoping conversations with new clients

Our clients are spread across Europe, the US and Asia. Some client calls fall in the evening Romanian time, typically [1–2 a week], always planned in advance, and you can flex your hours on those days.

Required Skills & Qualifications

What you'll need

• 5+ years of experience in UX research, ideally including agency, consultancy or client-facing work
• A track record of leading studies end-to-end, from research question to recommendations
• Strong command of both qualitative and quantitative methods, and knowing when to use which
• Fluent English, written and spoken (C1 or above). Romanian is a plus, not required
• Experience presenting insights to senior stakeholders and handling challenging client questions
• Ability to run several studies at once and keep quality high under tight deadlines
• Experience mentoring or reviewing the work of other researchers
• Experience with Qualtrics (or similar tools such as SurveyMonkey, Typeform or UserTesting)

Nice to have

• Experience moderating interviews and focus groups
• Experience with research for digital products (web or mobile apps)
• Data analysis in Excel, Google Sheets, SPSS or a BI tool

• Competitive salary: 14,000–18,000 RON gross per month, depending on experience
