User Experience | User Interface Design

Safegrid's Intelligent Grid System consists of two main components: field-deployed IoT sensor devices and a cloud platform. This role focuses on designing the user experience and visual interfaces of our digital products, turning technically complex, data-intensive systems into clear and consistent experiences. We are looking for an experienced UX/UI Designer to strengthen our capability in interaction design and visual brand alignment. This is an individual contributor role with substantial technical ownership. Working with Product Management and Software Development, you will design user journeys and workflows build and progressively take ownership of our shared design system and user interface guidelines.

What you will do

• Investigate users' needs, goals, and working practices, translating insights into clear design objectives.
• Design product information architecture, interaction logic, and workflows using wireframes and interactive prototypes.
• Create the visual appearance of user interfaces, including layouts, typography, and complex data visualizations, ensuring brand alignment.
• Develop and maintain the shared design system and reusable component libraries to support efficient product development.
• Plan and conduct usability testing to evaluate prototypes and implemented interfaces, driving continuous improvement.

What we are looking for

• Substantial hands-on experience in UX/UI design for digital products, demonstrating your process and decision rationale.
• Strong practical skills in prototyping (e.g., Figma), layout design, and creating clear data visualizations.
• Experience taking ownership of complex interface designs from initial concept through to implementation and evaluation.
• A systematic, evidence-based approach to usability testing and design evaluation.
• Clear communication skills, professional proficiency in English, and the ability to challenge assumptions constructively.
• A relevant degree in design, interaction design, or information technology, with proven experience, or equivalent practical background.

Useful experience

Practical UI implementation skills in modern frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript), building scalable design systems, and designing technical B2B products or data-intensive monitoring dashboards. Familiarity with energy networks, electrical grids, IoT, or industrial automation systems, along with experience using AI tools for rapid ideation and prototyping, is highly advantageous.

Location and working model

The role is based in Turku or Espoo, Finland and combines a flexible hybrid working model. Regular presence at the Turku office is expected, on average at least two days per week, to support team collaboration and product development coordination. Work from the Espoo office or other locations may be required as needed.
