The company offers end-to-end production services, from concept development through post-production, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. ROLE DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for an exceptional high-end all-round Senior Video Editor who will take over all editing tasks. This Senior Video Editor will manage the full post-production workflow, including assembling footage, editing narrative films, music videos, corporate and brand films, social media content and more. Day-to-day responsibilities include organizing raw media, refining story pace, collaborating with directors and producers on creative direction, and delivering polished edits that align with project goals and client expectations. The role also involves color grading, integrating motion graphics, sound design and preparing versions for different platforms, and maintaining efficient file management and backup processes. This is a full-time remote role, requiring proactive communication, reliable time management, and the ability to work closely with the creative team. This is an independent contractor role and is a full-time engagement requiring your complete focus. Please do not apply if you intend to run this alongside other jobs or freelance clients.

This role is open to candidates based in Nigeria only (preferably in Lagos)

PAY SCALE: ₦600,000 to ₦800,000 per month

(Note that this is a fixed monthly fee paid in GBP - British Pounds to a UK-facing account such as Grey or similar. Figures are based on current exchange rates. After a 3-month probationary period, and subject to targets being met, the fee will be reviewed with a potential increase).

ESSENTIAL

• Strong understanding of the use of AI to create captivating narratives
• Demonstrable Hands-on experience of the use of AI tools with evidence (Especially Higgsfield, Seedance 2.5 or comparable)
• Advanced proficiency in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, you must be genuinely fast and fluent
• Proven ability to edit narrative work (a feature, short film, or documentary)
• Strong short-form and social media editing, with an instinct for pacing and hooks
• Trailer cutting ability, you understand structure, rhythm and tension
• Strong conceptual thinking, able to originate compelling video ideas and concepts for social media and brand content
• Strong skills with self-managed sound design and audio mixing
• Confident in music selection and scoring from licensed libraries
• Strong colour correction and grading skills
• Ability to produce credible motion graphics and titles
• Genuine interest in film and storytelling, not just technical execution
• Clear understanding of and respect for the kind of work H.S. IDEAS produces
• Highly self-managed, organised, and able to hit deadlines without being chased
• Excellent written and spoken English for clear reporting and communication

HIGHLY DESIRABLE

• After Effects or Fusion for more advanced motion graphics
• Experience delivering a feature-length project end to end
• Experience with Frame.io or similar collaborative review platforms
• DaVinci Resolve colour grading at a professional level
• Understanding of festival and cinema delivery specifications

The candidate MUST have their own reliable, fast internet and an independent power supply (inverter, generator, or solar) to ensure constant availability. There will be daily virtual meetings and progress check-ins.

Working hours: 9am - 6pm UK time (you must adjust to UK time year-round, including when UK clocks change)

This role is technically demanding. You must already have everything you need to do the job from day one, we do not supply equipment or software.

EQUIPMENT AND SETUP REQUIREMENTS

• A powerful editing machine capable of comfortably handling 4K footage and long-form projects
• Sufficient fast storage to hold and work with large media volumes (Film project proxies alone are typically over 250GB with actual files just under 1TB).
• Your own licences for your editing software, as an independent contractor you are responsible for these
• Fast, reliable, high-capacity internet capable of transferring large files. Footage transfer arrangements will be confirmed on engagement
• A constant, independent power supply (inverter, generator or solar). This is non-negotiable, uninterrupted availability is essential
• Adequate backup of all working media and project files

5. Work demonstrating your colour grading

6. Work demonstrating your motion graphics

7. A trailer or teaser you cut

IMPORTANT:

For each piece, tell us clearly what you did on it. If you edited, graded, designed the sound and cut the trailer, say so. If you only edited, say that too. Be specific and honest.

Generic showreels with no context, or links to work you did not personally edit, will not be considered.

Shortlisted candidates will complete a short AI interview, followed by a one-to-one interview and a practical test.
