Role Overview: Senior Workday HR Systems Analyst, CoStar Group
Arlington, VA | On-site Monday-Thursday, Remote Friday
We are currently seeking a Senior Workday HR Systems Analyst to join our growing team at our headquarters in Arlington, VA.
The Senior Workday HR Systems Analyst serves as a technical and functional subject matter expert for Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) and related modules. This role is responsible for supporting and optimizing Workday across Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Talent, Time Tracking, Absence, Reporting, and Security. The analyst will partner with HR, Payroll, Finance, and other business stakeholders to design, configure, maintain, and enhance Workday functionality while ensuring data integrity,
process efficiency, compliance, and an excellent employee experience.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex business challenges, and has broad experience supporting enterprise HR systems. This role reports to the Director of HR Technology within the Human Resources organization.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a functional and technical SME for Workday HCM and related modules including Payroll, Compensation, Benefits, Time Tracking, Absence, Talent, Recruiting, Security, and Reporting.
- Configure, maintain, and optimize Workday business processes, security frameworks, calculated fields, condition rules, validation rules, and reporting solutions.
- Partner with HR centers of excellence, Payroll, Finance, Talent Acquisition, and business stakeholders to identify process improvements and scalable solutions.
- Support system administration activities, including configuration changes, testing, releases, and production deployments.
- Lead Workday enhancement initiatives and evaluate new features and functionality based on business needs and value.
- Coordinate regression testing, feature enablement, and system upgrades to ensure successful deployment of new capabilities.
- Analyze and improve HR business processes with a focus on efficiency, user experience, automation, and data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure tenant health, data integrity, configuration consistency, and adherence to Workday leading practices.
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, audits, and analytics to support HR and business operations.
- Support compliance initiatives, security reviews, audits, and control activities, including SOX-related requirements.
- Maintain documentation related to system configuration, business processes, integrations, reporting, and support procedures.
- Serve as a liaison between HR Technology and business stakeholders to translate requirements into system solutions.
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for complex Workday issues and perform root cause analysis to implement sustainable fixes.
- Manage incidents, service requests, enhancements, and problem tickets within established service level agreements.
- Support future Workday implementations, integrations, and expansion into new modules and functionality.
- Proactively identify system risks, performance concerns, and opportunities for optimization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant HRIS, HR Technology, or Workday experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on Workday configuration experience across multiple functional areas.
- Strong experience supporting Workday HCM along with one or more of the following modules: Payroll, Compensation, Benefits, Time Tracking, Absence, Talent, Recruiting, Security, or Reporting.
- Experience configuring business processes, security roles, calculated fields, condition rules, custom reports, and dashboards.
- Understanding of HR processes and employee lifecycle events within Workday.
- Exposure to compliance and controls, including SOX or similar governance requirements.
- Demonstrated experience planning and executing testing activities including unit testing, integration testing, and UAT.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across the organization.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.
- Experience supporting Workday releases, change management activities, and continuous system improvement initiatives.

The final salary or hourly rate offered for this role will fall within the range set forth below based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.
Base Compensation: $114,900.00 - $169,900.00 Annually
