• Follow developments across NASA and other space agencies, research institutions, observatories, commercial space companies, and the wider space industry to identify strong and timely story angles.
• Monitor scientific journals, research papers, agency announcements, Google, MSN, Flipboard, SmartNews, competitor publications, and other relevant sources to identify stories and emerging topics relevant to the audience.
• Research and verify facts, statistics, quotations, scientific claims, and technical information using primary sources, research papers, official announcements, expert commentary, and other credible sources.

• Select relevant, high-quality visuals for each story, including cover images, photographs, videos, illustrations, and other supporting visual elements, while following copyright and attribution requirements.
• Write compelling headlines and ensure stories are structured and optimised for digital audiences, including appropriate subheadings, metadata, internal and external links, and SEO best practices.
• Work with editors to refine story angles, structure, sourcing, clarity, accuracy, and overall presentation, while consistently incorporating editorial feedback.
• Manage multiple assignments, maintain consistent output and editorial quality, and meet agreed publishing deadlines.
• Maintain Starlust’s editorial voice, accuracy standards, and quality expectations across all coverage.
• Remain flexible and responsive during major launches, mission developments, scientific discoveries, celestial events, and breaking space news.

• Excellent news judgment and the ability to identify timely, relevant, and compelling story angles.
• Strong research and fact-checking skills, including the ability to work with scientific papers, official announcements, agency sources, and credible reporting.
• Ability to understand compelling content ideas and translate complex subjects into clear, engaging social content.
