MyPay builds payment products for merchants, processing thousands of transactions every day.
We operate primarily in Greece and are expanding internationally, with products spanning card payment acceptance,
business accounts, e-wallets and AI-powered merchant tools.
We're looking for an experienced, hands-on engineer who has architected, built, integrated and operated systems
from zero to production. You'll own work across frontend applications, backend services and infrastructure, making
technical decisions and seeing them through to production.
**AI-augmented development is central to how we work.** Our development lifecycle already incorporates AI across
discovery, design, implementation, testing, review and operations. You'll work confidently within these workflows,
validate their output and contribute improvements backed by engineering judgment.
**What you'll do**
- **Own architecture and technical decisions:** Define service boundaries, data models and integration patterns.
Make build-versus-buy decisions and balance delivery speed, reliability and long-term complexity.
- **Build products end to end:** Translate business needs into frontend experiences, backend services and
integrations with payment processors, banks and identity providers.
- **Run infrastructure and delivery:** Configure and maintain Linux VMs, containers and networking. Build CI/CD
pipelines, automate deployments and maintain rollback and recovery procedures.
- **Operate and secure the platform:** Manage access, secrets, patching and network exposure. Improve monitoring,
investigate incidents and keep performance, backups and recovery dependable.
- **Work within an AI-augmented SDLC:** Use established AI tooling to design, build, test and operate software, with
rigorous validation and accountability for what ships.
- **Provide technical leadership:** Stay hands-on, lead design reviews, mentor engineers and bring clarity to
ambiguous problems.
**What you bring**
- **Deep engineering experience:** Typically 10+ years building production software, with substantial ownership of
architecture, implementation and operations.
- **A zero-to-one track record:** You've personally designed and shipped complete systems, integrated external
services and evolved them under real production demands.
- **Architectural judgment:** You know where to introduce boundaries, where to keep things simple and when to
change direction. You can explain your decisions through concrete tradeoffs and outcomes.
- **Full stack engineering:** Deep TypeScript experience with Node.js, Express and PostgreSQL, including row-level
security (RLS), multi-tenant data isolation and query optimisation. Confident designing event-driven services,
idempotent APIs and reliable integrations.
- **Hands-on infrastructure and DevOps:** Comfortable administering Linux servers and VMs, troubleshooting ports,
DNS, TLS and firewalls, and working with containers, CI/CD and infrastructure automation.
- **Security and reliability:** Practical experience with access controls, hardening, observability and recovery.
You understand failure modes, data consistency and how to build systems that recover safely.
- **AI fluency and collaboration:** You already use AI effectively throughout development, critically assess its output
and communicate technical decisions clearly.
**Useful extras**
Experience with payments, financial infrastructure, regulated environments, infrastructure as code or AI-powered
product features.
