Join Adaptiv’s Data Practice
At Adaptiv, we help enterprise organisations across Australia and New Zealand connect systems, modernise technology and unlock the value of their data.
We’re looking for a Service Delivery Manager (Data) who enjoys working with clients and technical teams to deliver agreed outcomes.
Why join Adaptiv?
You’ll work alongside experienced consultants, architects and engineers on meaningful projects across data, integration and AI. We value collaboration, continuous learning and a down-to-earth culture.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of PMO, you’ll own assigned consulting engagements from project setup through to completion and client sign-off, within Adaptiv’s delivery framework.
The role combines project delivery, client relationships and operational administration. You’ll coordinate multidisciplinary teams across Australia and New Zealand, with no direct reports, and adapt as priorities change.
What You’ll Be Doing
Project Delivery
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones and dependencies.
- Manage scope, budget, quality and changes, aligning delivery plans with technical execution and ongoing business operations.
- Identify financial, commercial and technical risks, manage mitigation actions and resolve delivery blockers.
- Coordinate demonstrations, validation and client acceptance of project outputs.
Client Engagement
- Build trusted delivery relationships and keep clients informed about progress, spend, risks and decisions.
- Facilitate meetings, record actions and follow up on outstanding information.
- Monitor contractor performance and manage supplier relationships and contracts.
- Support client and pre-sales meetings, escalating emerging needs and opportunities to Practice or Sales leadership.
Team Collaboration
You’ll work closely with the PMO, Data Practice and technical leadership, Developers, Architects, QA, delivery teams, Sales, HR and senior operations.
- Coordinate personnel and resource allocations across current and pipeline projects.
- Keep team priorities, responsibilities and dependencies clear.
- Escalate material scope, commercial, resource and delivery decisions to the appropriate owner, keeping the Head of PMO and relevant Practice leadership informed.
Operational Excellence
- Maintain project documentation, reporting, timesheets and project-system updates to support accurate month-end billing.
- Prepare proposals, statements of work, budget documents, briefings and presentations, and correctly file signed documents.
- Coordinate meetings and the project administration needed for effective client delivery.
- Apply delivery governance and technical quality standards, and feed lessons into improvements to delivery practices.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll bring:
- At least three years leading complex technology projects or engagements, with a verifiable record of successful IT delivery, as a Project Manager, Delivery Manager, Digital Producer or equivalent.
- A related tertiary qualification.
- A strong working understanding of cloud, data, integration and software delivery concepts, sufficient to engage confidently with technical teams and understand dependencies and risks.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and delivery tracking tools such as Kanban, ADO or Jira.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills and the ability to write reports for different audiences.
- Strong communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills.
- Organisation, accuracy, sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Integrity, dependability, resilience and a proactive approach to improvement.
Bonus Experience
The following would be advantageous:
- Experience delivering Data, Integration or other complex technology engagements.
- Experience combining delivery, client relationships and operational responsibilities in a multidisciplinary role.
- Project management training, such as Agile, SAFe, Kanban, PMI or PRINCE2.
What Success Looks Like
- Agreed outcomes and acceptance criteria are met within delivery governance and quality standards.
- Milestones and financial performance are actively managed, with material variances raised early.
- Teams have clear, measurable delivery tasks, and clients have visibility of progress and next steps, with no avoidable surprises.
Why This Opportunity?
If you enjoy taking responsibility for delivery and helping people turn plans into results, we’d love to hear from you.
