Location: 100% Remote (Europe / Nearshore)

Contract: Freelance / B2B

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Until June 2027 (extension possible)

Workload: Full-time

Rate: Negotiable, based on experience

Language: English (fluent), German is a strong advantage


About the Opportunity

For our international client, we are looking for an experienced ServiceNow Automation Consultant / Developer with strong expertise in workflow automation, API integrations and network infrastructure.

The project focuses on designing, implementing and maintaining automated workflows within ServiceNow, supporting network and firewall operations as part of a Network Automation Framework (NAF).

You will work with ServiceNow, Ansible, Python, GitLab, NetBox and REST APIs to deliver scalable, reliable and fully traceable automation solutions.


Your Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and maintain ServiceNow workflows and Business Rules.
  • Build and configure ServiceNow-based orchestration solutions, including operational dashboards and user-friendly interfaces.
  • Automate network and firewall processes such as provisioning, configuration changes, software updates, security hardening and decommissioning.
  • Integrate ServiceNow with external platforms through APIs, including NetBox, Infoblox, CyberArk, Checkmk, DNS and CMDB.
  • Develop and enhance Ansible Playbooks and Python scripts for network automation.
  • Integrate GitLab CI/CD pipelines into automated infrastructure workflows.
  • Support CMDB synchronization, change management automation and validation reporting.
  • Prepare technical documentation and support knowledge transfer.


Your Profile

Required skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow development, workflow design and Business Rules.
  • Experience integrating ServiceNow with REST APIs and external enterprise systems.
  • Solid practical knowledge of Ansible, Python and GitLab.
  • Understanding of network infrastructure, firewall technologies and network automation.
  • Experience with CMDB, ITSM processes and change management.
  • Ability to design intuitive user interfaces and operational dashboards.
  • Independent, structured and solution-oriented working approach.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Nice to have:

  • German language skills.
  • Experience with NetBox, Infoblox, CyberArk or Checkmk.
  • Knowledge of Network Automation Frameworks and Software-Defined Networking.
  • Experience with infrastructure orchestration and configuration management.
