The Role
The Shopify Developer will own the maintenance, customization, and optimization of MaryRuth’s online Shopify store. This role will involve extensive cross-functional work with Marketing and other IT teams to facilitate the realization and actualization of team requests and needs while keeping Shopify secure and accessible. The Shopify Developer will also audit the site and implement corrective solutions on an ongoing basis, monitor functionality, apply updates, and act as the team’s Shopify expert. This is a full-time, salaried, remote role. Ability to work in alignment with the US Central time zone preferred. The compensation range for this role is MXN $41,600 to $43,750/month.
Responsibilities
Build, maintain, and optimize existing Shopify themes for the MaryRuth’s website utilizing extensive expertise in Liquid.
Own the implementation and resolution of technical requests from Marketing and IT teams to ensure alignment and bridge technical gaps.
Monitor the Shopify site to establish fully responsive designs and complete functionality for both mobile and desktop users.
Partner with IT and Enterprise Systems teams to perform security testing and solve for any findings, working to confirm that Shopify remains free of open vulnerabilities.
Audit code from previous Shopify iterations, determining areas of opportunity and executing improvements.
Provide ongoing maintenance and security support by fixing bugs, updating themes, and remaining apprised of changes and best practices in security compliance.
Offer guidance to overnight support on potential admin maintenance
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Travel (<5%) may be required on an as-needed basis with advance notice provided to the employee.
Qualifications
Minimum 3+ years of demonstrated professional experience in developing and managing Shopify instances.
Extensive experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Liquid is required.
Strong, comprehensive understanding of Shopify themes and theme implementation.
Demonstrated experience developing APIs and connections in Shopify using GraphQL; additional proficiency in GitHub and Shopify CLI.
Experience and comfort being the subject matter expert of a Shopify instance.
Able to translate and actualize requests and ideas in Shopify from cross-functional teams (e.g. Marketing).
Excellent collaboration and communication skills for extensive partnership with global employees.
Fluency in verbal and written English is required.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
This role involves sitting most of the time but may also involve moving for brief periods of time.
