Shopify Developer (DTC E-commerce – Fragrance Brand) Company Overview It is a fast-growing direct-to-consumer designer-inspired fragrance e-commerce brand. The company launched in the Netherlands and is rapidly expanding across Europe — including Germany, France, Belgium, Austria, and the Nordics — with upcoming expansion into the United Kingdom and the United States over the next 9–12 months. The business operates a performance-driven e-commerce model focused on conversion optimization, localization at scale, and high-speed experimentation across multiple markets. Mission We're looking for a highly skilled Shopify Developer to own and scale the technical foundation of our e-commerce ecosystem. This includes country store launches, landing page development, conversion rate optimization, site performance, tracking infrastructure, and ongoing platform stability. This is a long-term, full-time role for someone who thrives in fast-moving DTC environments and is comfortable working across multiple international storefronts simultaneously. The ideal candidate is not just a developer but a conversion-focused builder who understands how technical decisions directly impact revenue and user experience. Key Responsibilities Your daily tasks will vary, giving you ownership over both strategic and execution-level technical work. Country Store Launches (Core Responsibility) Build and launch new Shopify stores using a master template across multiple markets (DE, FR, BE, AT, Nordics, UK, US) Configure country-specific payment methods (Klarna, SOFORT, iDEAL, Bancontact, etc.) Set up VAT logic, tax rules, shipping zones, and carrier integrations per market Implement country-specific legal requirements (e.g., Impressum for Germany) Manage localization setup including currency, language switchers, and hreflang implementation Ensure synchronized product catalog across all stores Landing Pages & Campaign Execution Build high-converting landing pages for top-selling fragrances Develop campaign-specific pages for Meta, TikTok, and Google Ads traffic Use tools such as Lovable and Claude for rapid page generation and implementation Integrate tracking pixels (Meta, TikTok, Google) correctly across all pages Build and maintain reusable landing page templates Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) Implement A/B testing infrastructure using tools such as Intelligems or Shopify-native solutions Run structured experiments across product pages, cart, and checkout Analyze and document test results with clear performance outcomes Deploy winning variations on a weekly optimization cycle Cart, Checkout & Revenue Optimization Build and optimize cart drawer features (upsells, bundles, free shipping bars, gift offers) Implement post-purchase one-click upsells Support subscription and bundling logic where applicable Optimize checkout experience (including Shopify Plus extensions when relevant) Site Performance & Speed Optimization Maintain sub-2 second page load speed across key pages Optimize images, scripts, and asset delivery pipelines Conduct regular app audits and remove performance bottlenecks Ensure mobile-first performance optimization (majority of traffic is mobile) Tracking, Analytics & Attribution Implement server-side tracking (Meta CAPI, Google CAPI) Configure GA4 and Google Tag Manager across all stores Integrate tools such as Triple Whale or Northbeam Manage Google Merchant Center feeds per country Monitor pixel health and tracking accuracy across all markets App & Tech Stack Management Integrate and maintain Klaviyo email automation flows Manage review systems (Judge.me, Loox, or Yotpo) Support loyalty, subscription, and retention tools Manage 3PL and inventory integrations (EU + future US logistics) Configure customer support tools such as Gorgias or Siena Maintenance & Documentation Resolve bugs with no issue remaining open longer than 5 days Maintain Shopify theme updates without breaking functionality Document all custom code, flows, and integrations in Notion Maintain weekly changelog of shipped updates and improvements First Ninety Days The first 90 days are focused on establishing technical stability, launching multiple country stores, and building a strong CRO and landing page engine. Weeks 1–2: Foundation & Audit Audit existing Shopify infrastructure and performance Review current store setup, apps, tracking, and theme structure Identify performance bottlenecks and conversion gaps Align on technical roadmap for multi-country expansion Weeks 3–4: Core Infrastructure Setup Standardize and optimize master Shopify template Set up development workflows and Git/version control structure Implement tracking baseline (GA4, GTM, Meta, TikTok) Begin first landing page builds for top products Weeks 5–8: Expansion Execution Launch 2–3 new country stores Implement localized payment, tax, and shipping setups Deploy first CRO tests across product and landing pages Optimize mobile performance and site speed benchmarks Weeks 9–12: Optimization & Scaling Launch additional landing pages and campaign assets Establish A/B testing cadence (weekly experiments) Improve tracking accuracy and attribution visibility Document systems, flows, and technical architecture in Notion Stabilize multi-store operations and prepare for scale phase Qualifications Years of Experience : 3+ years in Shopify development CRM Tool: Not required Softwares : Shopify, Liquid, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JSON, Git/GitHub, GA4, GTM, Meta Ads tools, Shopify 2.0 themes Industry Knowledge Required : DTC e-commerce, conversion optimization, multi-country Shopify setups, performance marketing ecosystems Specific Gender: No preference Skills & Competencies Strong proficiency in Shopify development (Liquid, themes, and custom builds) Solid understanding of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and JSON Experience with Shopify 2.0 section-based architecture Strong Git and version control practices (branches, PRs, clean commits) Conversion-first mindset focused on revenue impact, not just code quality Strong understanding of mobile-first UX (majority traffic mobile) Ability to work independently and take ownership of entire technical stack Strong written communication skills for async collaboration and documentation Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-experimentation DTC environments Ability to propose improvements proactively rather than waiting for instructions Strong familiarity with CRO principles and experimentation frameworks Technical Requirements Own laptop/PC suitable for development work Stable high-speed internet connection Comfortable working with modern Shopify development stack Experience using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) in daily workflow Ability to work across multiple Shopify stores and environments simultaneously Strong understanding of tracking, attribution, and performance analytics tools Position Description Working Hours: 9 hours per day, from 10:00 AM till 7:00 PM Beirut Time (including 1-hour break). 4 fixed overlapping hours required within the working window (10:00 AM – 7:00 PM Beirut Time), remaining hours flexible Working Days: 5 days per week, Monday to Friday Days Off: Saturday & Sunday Work Location: Fully-remote, you can work from anywhere PTO (Paid Time Off): TBC Salary Range: $1,500 – 2,000
