Role Description The Signage Project Designer is a full-time remote role responsible for designing, documenting, and coordinating signage and wayfinding systems for hospitality, mixed-use, and luxury developments. Day-to-day work includes developing concept and schematic designs, preparing detailed design drawings and specifications, and translating brand and wayfinding strategies into clear, buildable signage solutions. The role involves collaborating with internal designers and external stakeholders, attending virtual coordination meetings, and aligning design deliverables with project schedules and budgets. The Signage Project Designer will also review shop drawings, support material and fabrication decisions, and help ensure that final installations meet design intent and local standards. This position may require occasional flexible hours to accommodate clients and team members across different time zones.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in signage and wayfinding design, including concept development, layout, and integration of visual identity into built environments.
- Candidates should possess skills in technical design and documentation, such as creating detailed drawings, specifications, and production-ready artwork using relevant design tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, CAD software).
- Candidates should possess skills in branding and environmental graphics, including the ability to interpret brand guidelines and translate them into cohesive graphic systems for interiors and exteriors.
- Candidates should possess skills in project coordination and communication, including organizing deliverables, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and presenting design solutions to internal and external stakeholders.
- Candidates should possess skills in research and problem-solving, including understanding user flows, site constraints, regulatory considerations, and fabrication methods for signage.
- Relevant qualifications include a diploma or degree in Graphic Design, Environmental Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, or a related field, and experience working on signage, wayfinding, or environmental graphic design projects.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include familiarity with hospitality or mixed-use development projects, knowledge of fabrication processes and materials, ability to work independently in a remote setting, and strong attention to detail and visual consistency.
