Make an Impact as a Site Activation Specialist at Worldwide

As a Site Activation Specialist, you’ll play an important role in helping clinical research sites move efficiently through activation and study start-up. You’ll work closely with sites and internal teams to coordinate regulatory documentation, ethics committee submissions, informed consent forms, and other essential start-up activities.

You’ll build strong relationships with investigators and site personnel while keeping activities organized, compliant, and moving forward. You’ll also contribute to site identification and feasibility activities that help study teams evaluate and engage potential research sites.

This role offers the opportunity to strengthen your project management and strategic planning skills within Site Activation, with the potential to progress into Project Management or other Clinical Operations groups.

Where You'll Work

This is a remote role open to candidates based in Japan. You will collaborate with global teams across multiple time zones. No travel is required.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate study-specific regulatory and essential documentation across sites and countries, following up with sites and internal teams to maintain progress.
  • Support the development, adaptation, and review of country- and site-specific informed consent forms.
  • Build regular communication with sites to support the timely completion of study start-up and maintenance activities.
  • Collect, receive, and conduct first reviews of required regulatory and essential documents in line with applicable SOPs, guidelines, and study-specific plans.
  • Monitor local Ethics Committee submissions and provide timely status updates to relevant project teams.
  • Support site identification by coordinating Confidential Disclosure Agreements and collecting and analyzing Site Feasibility Questionnaires.

What You'll Bring

  • A minimum four-year college curriculum with a major concentration in medical, biological, physical, health, pharmacy, or another related science.
  • At least one year of clinical research experience, preferably within site activation or a regulatory-related function, together with previous pharmaceutical or CRO industry experience.
  • Good knowledge of ICH GCP, the EU Clinical Trials Directive, and other relevant clinical research conduct guidance.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to plan, prioritize, monitor, and manage multiple activities in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Strong understanding of local cultural norms and healthcare systems, with the ability to build relationships with investigators and key site personnel.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • At least an intermediate level of English proficiency and fluency in Japanese
