Headlines:

  • Role - Site Engagement Lead

  • Salary - $70,000 to $90,000

  • Location - USA, fully remote, in the following states: IL, MA, MO, NJ, NY, NC, PA, TX

As Site Engagement Lead, you will be the primary point of contact between Sano Genetics, the sponsor and/or CRO, and the clinical trial and referring sites. You will shape a strategic site network that supports recruitment across Sano’s portfolio, build lasting relationships with site teams, and run day-to-day site engagement operations.

How you'll make an impact

You’ll build Sano’s referring site network into a scalable, high-performing recruitment channel across our clinical trial portfolio, build relationships with active trial sites, and ensure a positive patient experience from eligibility to site referral.

You’ll build Sano’s referring site network into a scalable, high-performing recruitment channel across our clinical trial portfolio, build relationships with active trial sites, and ensure a positive patient experience from eligibility to site referral.

In your first 3–6 months, you’ll focus on:

  • Build a high-value referring site network that strengthens recruitment across Sano’s portfolio, identifying, prioritising and developing sites that can support multiple programmes and therapeutic areas rather than individual studies.

  • Turn referring sites into long-term recruitment partners, building trusted relationships with PIs, study coordinators and site teams so that strong partnerships and referral activity carry from one programme to the next.

  • Increase site engagement and referral performance, creating a consistent engagement and feedback approach that keeps sites active, removes barriers to referral and gives partners visibility into the impact of their contribution.

  • Accelerate study set-up and recruitment readiness, recruitment journeys and site approaches so programmes can launch with the right sites, patients and recruitment strategy in place.

  • Make Sano the easiest and most effective way for sites to refer patients, delivering onboarding, training and ongoing support that embeds Sano’s platform and HCP referral flows into day-to-day site workflows.

  • Improve recruitment performance through data and site insight, monitoring referral and enrolment performance, identifying where patients are getting stuck and using insights from sites and patients to improve recruitment strategies, materials and the Sano platform and its offerings.

  • Deliver a high-quality, patient-centred referral experience from first referral through to site handover, working closely with sites, Medical Monitors, Project Leads and internal teams to decide SOPs to move eligible patients through recruitment efficiently while maintaining GCP and data privacy standards.

This role is for you if you:

  • Understand clinical research and patient recruitment - you bring experience recruiting and engaging patients for clinical studies, ideally alongside a strong scientific background and familiarity with the pharmaceutical or biomedical industry.

  • Know how to build relationships with clinical sites - you’ve worked closely with investigators, study coordinators and other site teams; whether through site engagement, partnerships, CRA, site management or a similar role - and can build trusted relationships that last beyond a single study.

  • Think beyond individual studies - you can take a portfolio view, identifying how a network of sites can support multiple programmes and turning individual site relationships into a scalable recruitment channel.

  • Understand what drives referral and recruitment performance - you’re comfortable with patient profiling, HCP journey mapping and different recruitment and marketing channels, and you use testing, data and feedback to continuously improve performance.

  • Can turn strategy into repeatable operations - you’re equally comfortable designing an approach and making it work day to day - building processes, managing recruitment funnels & budgets, and keeping multiple studies and stakeholders moving.

  • Are confident working with HCPs and patients - you can represent Sano credibly with investigators and site teams as well as navigating eligible patients to sites

  • Enjoy being close to the action - you’re happy getting out to sites, attending investigator meetings and speaking directly with partners to understand what’s working, what isn’t and what needs to change.

This role is unlikely to be a great match if...

  • You prefer strategy to execution - this is a hands-on role. You’ll build the site strategy, but you’ll also visit sites, onboard teams, follow up on referrals and solve operational problems.

  • You’re most comfortable working study by study - we’re looking for someone who can build relationships and processes that work across programmes, not start from scratch with every new study.

  • Building relationships isn’t your thing - a big part of your impact will come from earning the trust of investigators and site teams and maintaining those relationships over time.

  • You’re uncomfortable with ambiguity and iteration - you’ll be building and improving how Sano works with sites, using data and feedback to test what works rather than following an established playbook.

Research shows that some people are less likely to apply for a role unless they are 100% qualified. Your experience, skills and passion will set you apart so tell us about your achievements, irrespective of whether they are personal or work-related, tell us about your journey, and about what you learnt.

So, if this role excites you, don't let our role description hold you back, get applying!
