Clinical Trial Associate - Office-based (Hybrid)

As a SMA I at ICON, you will support the management of clinical trial sites by assisting with site monitoring activities, ensuring compliance with study protocols, and maintain high standards of operational efficiency.


What You Will Do:


Your role will involve delivering clinical research work to a high standard, working closely with your team and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the monitoring of clinical trial sites, ensuring adherence to study protocols, regulatory requirements, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
  • Supporting site management activities, including documentation preparation, data entry, and tracking site performance metrics.
  • Providing support for clinical trial financial activities, including tracking site payments, reviewing invoices and payment documentation, monitoring study-related expenses, and assisting with budget and payment reconciliations.
  • Coordinating with clinical operations, finance, and site teams to help resolve payment queries and ensure timely processing of site-related financial activities.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to facilitate communication and address site-related operational issues effectively.
  • Maintaining accurate records of site activities, financial documentation, and contributing to the preparation of monitoring reports.
  • Participating in training and development initiatives to enhance knowledge and skills in clinical trial management.

Your Profile:


You will bring relevant clinical research experience, along with the following qualifications and skills.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or another finance-related discipline.
  • Some experience in finance, accounting, invoicing, payment processing, budget tracking, reconciliation, or other related financial/administrative functions.
  • Experience in clinical research, clinical trial site management, or a related healthcare environment is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Basic understanding of local taxation requirements and general financial/accounting principles, particularly as they relate to invoices, payments, and business transactions.
  • Basic knowledge of clinical trial processes, site payments, and regulatory requirements is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational and numerical skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and financial records accurately.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other tools used for financial tracking, reporting, and data management is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with Clinical Operations, Finance, study sites, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Willingness to work in hybrid setup (2-3x a week RTO at Makati City)
