Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our client’s cloud engineering team. In this embedded role, you will work closely with the client’s SRE and product development teams to strengthen production readiness and reliability for large-scale software platforms.

On a given day, an SRE Engineer will:

• Maintain and operate Kubernetes clusters and cloud based infrastructure.

• Design and build software solutions that improve monitoring, service reliability, and engineering efficiency.

• Automate workflows across engineering and operations to reduce operational toil and improve productivity.

• Participate in on-call rotations to actively monitor system health, respond to incidents, and maintain high service availability.

• Provide technical support and resolution for escalated user requests and production issues.

In order to be successful in this role you will need:

• 4+ years of hands on experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, or related engineering domains.

• Experience with public cloud platforms, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

• Proven experience with production on call responsibilities, system troubleshooting, and incident response.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice to Have:

• Proficiency in Go, Python, or similar programming languages.

• Experience with modern observability platforms and tools (for example OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, or APM tools).

• Practical experience providing direct user or customer support.

Employment Conditions

• Employment Type: Fixed term contract through MTC. This is a contingent worker assignment, so you will remain an MTC employee throughout the engagement.

• Contract Duration: Initial 3-month contract (mid-November 2026 to mid-February 2027), with potential for extension based on business needs and performance.

• Location & Schedule: Tokyo, Japan. Onsite 3 days per week, with the remaining days worked remotely.

• Salary: Competitive, based on experience and skillset (details shared during the interview process).

• Allowance: Commuting Allowance

• Working Hours: 9:00 – 18:00 (1-hour break)

• Holidays; Saturdays, Sundays, and Japanese public holidays ※ Annual paid leave and special leave also provided

• Smoking Policy: No smoking indoors in principle

• This position is open only to candidates who currently reside in Japan. Relocation support and visa sponsorship will not be provided.
