Site Reliability Engineer

Cavendish Professionals are looking to speak to Software Engineering & Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Leads to join an exciting client with offices all over Central Europe, on a hybrid working basis. The successful candidates will play a key role in designing, developing and operating enterprise technology solutions, with a particular focus on software quality, test automation and platform reliability.

The role will involve leading end-to-end SDLC processes, developing automated testing frameworks and applying SRE principles to build reliable, scalable and resilient platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong software engineering fundamentals, extensive test automation experience and a background in production operations and CI/CD.

Skills and Requirements:

• 5+ years' experience in software engineering and enterprise application development.
• Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies and engineering best practices.
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing test automation frameworks and strategies.
• Proven experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), production operations and platform reliability.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices and release automation.
• Strong understanding of system performance, scalability, availability and resiliency.
• Experience with monitoring, observability, incident management and operational excellence.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk or Dynatrace.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, testing and deployment of high-quality software solutions.
• Drive end-to-end SDLC processes, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment and production support.
• Develop automated testing frameworks and strategies to improve software quality, reliability and release velocity.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting continuous integration, automated testing and continuous delivery.
• Apply SRE principles to improve system reliability, scalability, availability and operational efficiency.
• Establish and monitor SLIs, SLOs and error budgets to ensure service performance and reliability objectives are met.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, security and operations teams to streamline software delivery and production support.
• Lead root cause analysis, incident management and post-incident reviews to drive continuous improvement.
• Champion observability through monitoring, logging, alerting and performance analysis.
• Mentor engineering teams on software engineering best practices, test automation and reliability engineering.
