You'll be part of one of the UK's most significant energy infrastructure developments, helping deliver essential works that contribute to the future of Britain's energy infrastructure.

If you enjoy leading teams, taking responsibility and seeing the results of your work on a major construction project, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

Why this role?

Take ownership and lead from the front – You'll be trusted to manage day-to-day site delivery, make decisions and overcome challenges. It's an opportunity to take real responsibility, lead by example and see the direct results of your leadership on site.

Be part of something bigger – You'll play an important role in delivering Ground Control's £4.2m contract, contributing to one of the UK's most significant energy infrastructure developments. You'll have the satisfaction of knowing your work supports a project with long-term national importance.

Make a difference through your team – You'll lead and support civils gangs, operatives and subcontractors, helping them deliver safe, high-quality work. Your ability to bring people together, maintain standards and keep teams motivated will directly influence the success of the project.

Solve challenges and keep projects moving – Every day on site brings different priorities. Develop your career with Ground Control – You'll work alongside experienced Project Managers and operational teams, gaining exposure to major infrastructure delivery. You'll have opportunities to strengthen your leadership skills, broaden your experience and develop your career within a growing business.

What you'll do:

You'll play a key role in the successful delivery of Ground Control's contract, working closely with the Project Manager to oversee daily site operations and coordinate civils teams and subcontractors.

  • Lead and coordinate site teams, supervising civils gangs, operatives and subcontractors, allocating tasks and organising labour, materials, equipment and resources.

  • Maintain high safety standards, delivering site briefings, ensuring compliance with RAMS, permits and site procedures, and reporting hazards, near misses and areas for improvement.

  • Monitor progress and quality, carrying out site inspections, checking workmanship, tracking productivity and ensuring works meet specifications, deadlines and quality standards.

  • Resolve day-to-day site challenges, identifying risks, delays and resource issues, taking action where possible and escalating concerns to the Project Manager when required.

  • Maintain accurate site records and reporting, including progress updates, safety documentation and site information using Microsoft Office and systems such as Safety Culture.

  • Build strong working relationships, communicating effectively with the Project Manager, subcontractors, site teams and wider stakeholders to support smooth project delivery.

What we're looking for:

We're looking for someone who takes pride in delivering quality work, enjoys leading operational teams and can confidently manage site activities while maintaining high standards of safety and performance.

Essential:

  • Proven experience supervising civils, groundworks, utilities or infrastructure works, including coordinating operatives, subcontractors and site resources within a construction environment.

  • CSCS certification.

  • Strong understanding of site health and safety requirements, including RAMS, permits and safe working procedures.

  • Strong organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, work under pressure and keep site activities on track.

  • Confident communication and a proactive, solutions-focused approach, with the ability to build positive relationships and resolve site-level challenges.

  • Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office, with the ability to maintain accurate site records and reports.

Desirable, but not essential:

• SSSTS qualification.

• NRSWA qualification.

• Experience working on major construction, energy or infrastructure projects.

• Experience managing multiple live sites or work fronts.

• Knowledge of NRSWA Street Works requirements.

• Previous experience supporting utility or EV charging infrastructure installations.

• Familiarity with Safety Culture, Skillco or similar site management systems.
