About Sanctuary

Sanctuary builds nature - led, wellness - centered communities that feel alive. Our first 135-acre residential community in the Texas Hill Country is designed with:

🌱 Non-toxic materials

💧 Clean water and filtration systems

⚡ EMF-conscious design

🌿 135 acres of preserved land and eco - sensitive planning

We are a global team (spread across 8 countries) of designers, architects, engineers, and dreamers building spaces that restore and inspire. For us, it’s not just where people live - it’s how they live.

Our vision is to bring Sanctuary to major cities around the world: healthy, sovereign communities that sit on the edges of every modern metropolis.

About the role

We are hiring a Smart Home Project Manager to bring technology into our homes in a way that supports how people live. You will manage the implementation of smart home systems across our projects - from planning and vendor selection through installation and handover - and use AI tools to prototype integrations, automate workflows, and build internal systems. Internally, we call this role a "Smart Home VibeKid": someone who can vibe code a working prototype instead of waiting for someone else to build it.

Smart home at Sanctuary looks a little different. Our homes are designed around wellness, so technology has to serve health and comfort - lighting, air and water quality, energy, security - while staying mindful of EMF exposure. You will help decide what goes into our homes, how it all works together, and how residents experience it.

This is not a role for someone who needs close oversight or a fixed playbook. We are looking for someone curious and hands-on, who can test ideas quickly, figure out what's missing, and turn a concept into a working system.

What you'll do

Smart home implementation

  • Plan and manage smart home technology across our projects: lighting, climate, air and water quality monitoring, energy, security, and connectivity

  • Evaluate and select smart home platforms, devices, and vendors that fit our wellness and EMF-conscious standards

  • Work with architects, MEP consultants, and the construction team to build smart home systems into designs early

  • Oversee installation, testing, and handover with vendors and integrators

AI prototyping and automation

  • Use AI tools to prototype smart home integrations and automations before they go into homes

  • Build internal systems and workflows using AI-assisted ("vibe") coding and no-code platforms

  • Automate project tracking, vendor coordination, and reporting for smart home work

  • Keep up with new smart home and AI technology, and test what could work for us

Project management and coordination

  • Track timelines, budgets, and deliverables for smart home scope on each project

  • Coordinate vendors, integrators, and internal teams across India and the U.S.

  • Document systems clearly for residents, facility management, and future projects

What you bring

  • 3-7 years of experience in smart home, home automation, IoT, ELV, or building management systems (BMS) in real estate projects

  • Hands-on knowledge of smart home platforms and protocols (e.g. Home Assistant, Control4, Crestron, KNX, Zigbee, Z-Wave, Matter)

  • Experience managing installations with vendors and integrators, from planning to handover

  • Hands-on experience building prototypes or automations with AI (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Lovable, Replit) or no-code platforms (e.g. Zapier, Make, Airtable)

  • Examples of integrations, tools, or automations you've built - please share them when you apply

  • Interest in wellness technology (air and water quality, circadian lighting, low-EMF design) is a strong plus

  • Comfortable operating with high autonomy in a fast-moving, remote, cross-cultural environment

  • Clear, proactive communicator in English, both written and spoken

Hiring process

  1. Stage 1: Intro interview - Role alignment, experience overview, a walkthrough of systems or tools you've built, and culture fit

  2. Stage 2: Test task - A short practical assignment: plan or prototype a smart home solution using AI tools

  3. Stage 3: Final interview - Deep dive into workflows, expectations, and growth
