In this role, you'll:
At Transport for NSW, our Cyber Insights & Analytics (CI&A) team turns complex cyber, governance and operational information into trusted insights that support decision-making across the business. This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of cyber security, data engineering and analytics, building reporting products and data solutions that help protect critical infrastructure and support a secure, data-driven organisation.
In this role, you'll:
Design, develop and support enterprise-scale ETL/ELT pipelines, data integrations, APIs and data ingestion processes using Azure-based technologies.
Build and maintain reliable data marts, dimensional models and transformation processes to ensure trusted, high-quality reporting data.
Develop semantic models and executive-ready Power BI dashboards that deliver meaningful cyber and operational insights.
Partner with Cyber Governance, Operational and Technical SMEs to understand business requirements and translate them into fit-for-purpose reporting solutions.
Troubleshoot and optimise data pipelines, ingestion processes and reporting solutions across Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps and Power BI.
Apply CI/CD practices and contribute to improvements in reporting standards, documentation, metadata management and governance frameworks.
Support the uplift of self-service analytics capabilities across the Cyber function through the delivery of trusted and governed reporting products.

About you
You are a data and analytics professional with a strong foundation in data engineering, reporting and business intelligence.
You enjoy solving complex data challenges and take pride in delivering reliable, scalable and well-governed reporting solutions. You are equally comfortable working with technical teams to build data pipelines as you are engaging with senior stakeholders to present meaningful insights. You stay current with emerging Data & AI technologies and are keen to apply modern approaches to analytical and reporting challenges.
Skills & Experience
Essential
5+ years' experience developing and supporting enterprise-scale ETL/ELT pipelines, data marts and data integration solutions using Azure Data Factory (or similar technologies) and T-SQL.
Demonstrated expertise building executive-ready Power BI reports, dashboards and semantic models using DAX and Power Query (M).
Strong experience designing and implementing dimensional data models including fact and dimension structures based on Kimball methodologies.
Experience troubleshooting and optimising data ingestion, transformation and reporting solutions in Azure environments.
Exposure to Azure DevOps and CI/CD practices for deployment and support of data and reporting solutions.
Sound understanding of data governance, metadata management and Power BI security controls such as Row Level Security (RLS).
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to present analysis and insights to both technical and executive audiences.
Desirable
Experience with Microsoft Fabric.
Exposure to cyber security governance platforms and data sources including ServiceNow, Jira, Qualys or Prisma.
Microsoft Data & Analytics certifications.
