Overview

Home. There’s no place like it. And there’s no feeling like helping people create the joy of feeling truly at home. At Dunelm, that’s what we do. We’re the UK's number one choice for homewares because we make home life lovelier for our customers. And the caring and encouraging culture we've created makes this a place you'll feel right at home too.

We are the UK’s Number One homewares retailer offering 100,000 products building a consumer-focused total retail business that delights customers through our multichannel operation.

We are determined in our plans to increase further expansion of the business to more customers, shopping more frequently, with more choice, enhanced digital and physical services, and new capabilities to innovate and operate at pace in a fast-changing landscape. In developing the business for the long-term benefit of our customers, we are investing in our supply chain, stores and technology to improve the customer proposition as we progress.

The purpose of the Brand Marketing department is to generate increased brand love, awareness and consideration in customers, encouraging existing ones to shop more with us and new ones to consider us, all under the umbrella of ‘The Home of Homes.’

If you’re the type of person who’s always spotting the latest social trend, loves being organised, and gets a buzz from seeing great content go live, this could be the perfect next step for you.

As part of our Organic Social team, you’ll work closely with our Commercial, Digital Trading and Digital Marketing teams to make sure we’re sharing the right products, at the right time, in the right places. You’ll also help shine a light on the things that matter most to us, such as our charity initiatives.

We’re looking for a proactive, positive and eager-to-learn Social Media Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity to build hands-on experience across social media, content planning, reporting and campaign delivery, while learning from experienced social specialists along the way.

No two days are quite the same. One day you could be scheduling Instagram content, the next writing a brief for a graphic designer, sourcing user-generated content or brainstorming content ideas with the team.

While this isn't a content creation role, you'll still have the opportunity to get involved behind the scenes at photoshoots, visit our stores for content capture, and learn how social campaigns are brought to life from concept to publication.

What you'll be doing

•Supporting the Social Media team to keep content plans organised, accurate and up to date, ensuring all key information is
captured and ready to go.

•Social content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Stories using our social media management tools.

•Supporting the publishing of daily social media content across our channels.

•Assisting with a variety of team administration and project coordination tasks, from ordering products for shoots to contacting competition winners and monitoring competitor activity.

•Supporting studio, store and location shoots when required, helping everything run smoothly.

•Assisting with weekly, monthly and ad hoc reporting, helping the team track performance and understand what's happening across the market. Presenting findings in written reports and verbally in meetings.

•Managing the process of sourcing and organising user-generated content, including requesting permissions.

•Supporting the creation of weekly Instagram Stories briefs and collaborating with Copy and Design teams to bring ideas to life.

•Attending influencer meetings, maintaining campaign trackers and supporting reporting activities.

•Placing product orders and maintaining budget tracking documents

•Supporting content planning and ad hoc campaign requests across the wider team.

•Lending a hand across the wider Brand Communications team during busy periods, events and seasonal campaigns.

•Liaising with Brand Planning and Commercial Teams to stay abreast of stock availability and product launch dates.

•Note-taking in meetings, relaying the most relevant, up to date information with the team.

What we'll look for in you

•A genuine passion for social media, digital content and emerging trends
•Experience creating or managing social media content, whether through work, university projects, personal channels or other relevant experience
•Strong organisational and administrative skills, with excellent attention to detail
•A positive attitude and enthusiasm to learn in a fast-paced environment
•Good time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
•Confidence building relationships with a wide range of people across the business
•A naturally curious mindset and an interest in social media performance, insights and reporting
•A team player who enjoys getting stuck in and supporting others
Why join us?
You'll be joining a warm, welcoming team that's passionate about what we do. We'll give you the support, training and opportunities to grow your skills, gain valuable experience and build a career in social media.
Most importantly, you'll play a part in creating content that inspires customers to make themselves at home, helping us bring a little more joy to everyday life.

Work your way

We want our colleagues to feel at home wherever they work, so that they are comfortable and can be their best selves. In addition, we want everyone to feel connected to the business, our strategy and the teams they work with.

Where hybrid working is applicable, colleagues need to strike the right balance to fulfil both of these important factors. You will find the right mix of being at home, in the office & out in the business, bearing in mind business needs, job role and level of responsibility.

Wellbeing is more than just a buzzword here

From our Wellbeing Buddies and Mental Health First Aid training to our progressive parental leave, menopause policies and Colleague Support Fund, we're committed to supporting our colleagues in every area – and at every stage – of their lives. Through our partnership with the Retail Trust, everyone at Dunelm has free access to a 24/7 Virtual GP, as well as therapy and counselling, plus information, guidance and advice in all areas of financial, emotional and physical wellbeing.

Taking opportunities

Meet Amanda, our Chief Stores and People Director, who shares how she feels empowered to take opportunities every day, why Dunelm is her happy place, and why it’s a really exciting time to join us.

Look in our toy box

Of course, you should never judge a business by its tech stack. But take a peek at the range of technologies our engineers and developers are currently playing with.

Dazzling design

At Dunelm, we love every aspect of the design process. We're continually researching new developments in packaging, materials and production methods, tapping into new data insights and keeping track of changing lifestyle trends. We're hugely collaborative in the way we work. Together, the teams here have a direct impact on our success, creating amazing products that drive sales and delight our customers, as well as providing direction for our wide and varied range of brands.
