For almost 75 years, our employees have been the backbone of our business, driving our success and extraordinary reputation. We challenge our employees to take charge of their careers and provide growth opportunities, tools and resources to reach their goals.

What to expect:

The Social Media & Content Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day production and delivery of content that contributes to CWB Group’s digital presence, including the increased sharing of video content, event coverage, and product storytelling across CWB Group's online channels.

The role encompasses content creation, video production, brand storytelling, and digital analytics, producing content that builds awareness, deepens engagement, and supports CWB Group's positioning as an advocate and support for the welding and joining industry.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Social Media & Content Specialist collaborates closely with the Thought Leadership & Communications team, the Creative Director, Events & Sponsorships, and business line stakeholders to drive leads and increase awareness of CWB Group. This remote, work-from-home position requires approximately 5% travel within Canada to capture and support CWB Group’s programs, industry events, and other marketing and business-related activities, as required.

Key responsibilities include:

Social Media Content Coordination & Channel Strategy

  • Own and manage CWB Group's organic social media presence across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube — maintaining a consistent publishing cadence and brand voice across all channels.
  • Build and maintain a rolling monthly content calendar aligned with campaigns, product launches, events, thought leadership programs, and business line priorities.
  • Monitor brand and industry mentions, engage meaningfully with CWB Group's community, and flag reputational or compliance-related concerns to the Communications team.
  • Stay ahead of platform changes, algorithm updates, and emerging formats and bring proactive recommendations to the team on what to test next.
  • Support paid social advertising campaigns (audience targeting, creative assets, A/B testing).

Video Content Creation & Production

  • Concept, script, shoot, and edit original short-form and long-form video content for social channels, including LinkedIn video, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and full-length YouTube features.
  • Create video assets for product and service promotions, client success stories, industry commentary, and seasonal or campaign-specific moments.
  • Maintain a library of branded motion graphic templates, lower-thirds, and animated elements to keep video output consistent and efficient.
  • Support the coordination of third-party production contractors where required.

Customer Service & Public Communications

  • Monitor comments, mentions, and messages across CWB’s social media channels to identify inquiries and concerns.
  • When appropriate, direct users to the relevant CWB webpage or coordinate with the Client Success team to provide a suitable response.

Event Coverage & Live Content

  • Provide on-site photography and videography coverage at CWB events, industry sponsorships, trade shows, and community events.
  • Plan event content strategy in advance, in partnership with the Marketing Manager, to ensure full coverage capture plans are in place before every event.
  • Publish live and near-live social content during events — stories, Reels, LinkedIn posts — to extend reach and engagement beyond the room.
  • Edit and publish post-event highlight videos, photo galleries, and recap content that maximize the life of event investment.

Analytics and Reporting

  • Track, analyze, and report on social media performance metrics monthly, including reach, engagement rate, follower growth, video views, and click-through rate.
  • Contribute recommendations to the Marketing Manager and Senior Manager of Marketing Strategy & Brand to continuously improve CWB’s digital presence and performance.

What you bring to the table:

  • Post-Secondary education or equivalent
  • 3 – 5 years of progressive social media marketing experience, with at least one year in a B2B or professional services environment
  • Video editing skills specifically for social media distribution using tools like Adobe Premier, CapCut, Instagram Edits, Munch or others
  • Basic graphic design and content creation including Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite products
  • Social media scheduling and analytics tools including Sprout Social or Hootsuite
  • Working knowledge of LinkedIn Campaign Manager and/or Meta Business Suite for support and monitoring of paid placements

The following qualifications are considered assets:

  • Social Media program and/or courses
  • Bilingual in English and French
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • This is a remote, work from home position
  • Approximately 5% travel required within Canada to capture and support CWB Group’s programs and industry events
What’s in it for you?
  • Competitive salary structure
  • Comprehensive medical benefits for you and your dependents
  • Flexible work schedule
  • RRSP and pension program
  • Structured career development: we offer education and training opportunities to help you reach your goals.
