About TAIRC
The AI Research Center, Inc. (TAIRC) is a nonprofit research organization advancing transparent evaluation, responsible governance, and public-interest AI infrastructure. Our work focuses on helping institutions and communities better understand AI systems, evaluate their limitations, and translate research into responsible practice.
TAIRC connects technical research with public communication, accessibility, governance, and human accountability. We aim to make AI research more transparent, understandable, and useful for the public good.
This position is with TAIRC, not Metasys. Metasys supports the recruitment and administrative process on behalf of TAIRC.
Position Overview
TAIRC is seeking a creative, organized, and research-oriented Social Media Intern to support our communications and public engagement efforts across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Sub stack, and Medium.
This role will help communicate TAIRC’s research, publications, organizational developments, events, and public-interest initiatives to a broader audience. The ideal candidate can translate complex topics into clear, engaging content while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and alignment with TAIRC’s mission.
Working with the relevant team members, the intern will help develop content, maintain a consistent publishing presence, and explore ways to make responsible AI research more accessible to diverse audiences.
Work Arrangement: Remote
Compensation: Unpaid. This is an unpaid opportunity at this stage. Any formal internship arrangement is subject to appropriate educational supervision, organizational approval, and applicable legal requirements. Participation does not guarantee future paid employment or compensation.
Responsibilities
Social Media Management: Assist with managing TAIRC’s presence on LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok, adapting content to each platform’s audience and format.
Research Communication: Translate AI research, publications, technical concepts, and policy insights into accessible social media posts, short-form videos, graphics, and other content.
Editorial Publishing: Support the preparation, editing, formatting, and publication of longer-form articles and research-related content on Substack and Medium.
Content Planning: Help develop a content calendar aligned with TAIRC’s research priorities, organizational updates, events, and public engagement goals.
Content Creation: Draft captions, headlines, post copy, video scripts, and other communications that reflect TAIRC’s voice and institutional mission.
Research and Trend Monitoring: Identify relevant developments in AI research, AI safety, governance, responsible technology, and public-interest innovation that may inform future content.
Audience Engagement: Help monitor comments, interactions, and audience feedback, escalating substantive research or organizational inquiries to the appropriate team members.
Performance Monitoring: Track basic engagement metrics and assist in evaluating which content formats and topics are most effective at reaching relevant audiences.
Brand Consistency: Maintain consistency in messaging, tone, visual presentation, and organizational identity across platforms.
Accuracy and Review: Help ensure content is factually grounded, appropriately sourced, and submitted for review before publication. Avoid presenting unverified claims, drafts, or proposals as approved TAIRC research or institutional findings.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with research, operations, and communications team members to turn approved initiatives and materials into effective public-facing content.
