Social Media Manager
TalentPop AppSocial Media Manager (Remote, South Africa)
Somewhere right now, a customer is scrolling, sees one of our posts, stops, and actually reads the caption. That's the moment this job is built around — not just posting content, but making people stop mid-scroll and feel something about our brand.
At TalentPop App, we're growing our own in-house social media team, and we need a Social Media Manager who can own that experience end to end — from the content itself to the conversations happening in the comments and DMs.
This is a genuinely permanent, 100% remote role based in South Africa. No office, no commute, no return-to-office plans down the line.
The basics:
- Hours: US business hours
- Fully remote, permanently — based in South Africa. Open to applicants from the Philippines and Jamaica
- Pay: Paid in USD, hourly — your income holds its value, no matter what's happening with local exchange rates
Content Creation
- Develop and curate content aligned with our brand voice and marketing goals
- Repurpose creative assets across platforms — long-form into short-form posts, stories, and reels
- Work with our internal team on content direction, priorities, and brand guidelines
Content Distribution
- Schedule and publish content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and other organic platforms
- Manage posting cadence and content calendars alongside our marketing team
- Optimize content per platform and audience expectations

- Monitor and respond to comments and DMs across our social channels
- Handle pre-sale questions, post-purchase inquiries, and general community engagement
- Make sure no touchpoint on social goes unanswered
- Escalate complex issues to the right internal team when needed
- Track engagement, moderation volume, and content performance, and surface insights regularly
You're a great fit if you:
- Have 1–3 years of experience in social media management or something closely related
- Know Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook well — both content and community side
- Write with a strong sense of brand voice and tone
- Stay organized across content calendars and multiple priorities at once
- Have used scheduling tools, and know Canva, Adobe, or similar platforms
- Work well independently, without needing much oversight
Technical Requirements
- A personally owned PC or laptop (no borrowed equipment)
- Minimum 25 Mbps upload and download speed
- A dedicated workspace, with a backup plan for load-shedding to stay reliably online
What We Offer
- A genuinely permanent work-from-home setup — not hybrid, not temporary
- Paid time off
- Health and dental insurance or a monthly health stipend
- Holiday bonuses
- Annual performance-based increases
- Real career growth as our team continues to expand
