Playground Games is looking for a Social Media Manager to work alongside our talented Fable team in Leamington Spa on an agency contract.
About us
As a premier first-party Xbox Game Studio, we are passionate about creating genre-defining games that are accessible, beautiful, and, most of all, fun. We are currently developing the next chapter of the beloved Fable franchise, and we are looking for exceptional talent to contribute to our team as we continue to bring this iconic fantasy world to life.
About the role
As a Social Media Manager, you will help shape how we engage with the Fable community across our social and community channels. You will create engaging content, foster meaningful conversations with players, and help us understand community sentiment, while partnering with teams across the studio to deliver an outstanding player experience.
This position is offered on an agency contract, with the successful candidate employed by our trusted agency partner and assigned to work with Playground Games. The role is based at our state-of-the-art studio in Royal Leamington Spa, operating under our hybrid working model with a minimum of three days per week in the studio.
Please note, as this position is offered through a managed service provider, we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role.
We are looking for an experienced Social Media Manager who is passionate about gaming communities, skilled in social media and community engagement, and eager to contribute to the development of Fable.
What you'll do
- Support the day-to-day management of our social and community channels, delivering proactive and reactive engagement.
- Manage internal asset requests to support our content and community activity.
- Help manage our influencer programme, including onboarding new members, sharing assets and maintaining day-to-day relationships and communications with creators.
- Support and engage our player communities across many social channels, working with our external partners on moderation, community support and activations including competitions, polls and user-generated content initiatives.
- Use social listening and performance data to support ongoing reporting and community insights, alongside helping with website updates and maintenance.
What you'll bring
- Proven experience in community management, social media or digital communications within the video games industry, with a strong understanding of platforms such as Discord and Steam.
- Excellent written communication and organisational skills, with experience engaging communities, managing multiple activities and building positive relationships with players and creators.
- Experience with social listening, reporting, influencer programmes and community activations, with the ability to use insights to support effective community engagement.
- A genuine passion for video games.
- Experience supporting the launch of a major game title, DLC or other significant content release is a plus.
Why join us?
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a world-class game while working alongside an established, talented, and collaborative team at one of the industry's most exciting first-party game studios.
