We are looking for a soccer-obsessed, social-first Social Media Producer to help drive audience growth and content strategy across AMP Media’s soccer portfolio, including Unfiltered Soccer and Style of Play.
This role is designed for someone who lives at the intersection of soccer culture, social media, and content creation. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the global game and stays constantly plugged into the news, players, clubs, leagues, tournaments, memes, fan conversations, and cultural moments shaping soccer around the world.
Beyond being a soccer expert, this person should be a highly capable social producer and editor who can independently take an idea from concept through execution. They will identify and source compelling UGC, create memes and highly shareable content, produce and edit original social-first video, and capture behind-the-scenes content with talent at live shows, shoots, matches, and other on-site activations.
This role will work closely with producers, editors, social leads, and high-profile talent to help make our soccer brands part of the daily conversation around the sport — not just when a new podcast episode drops.
What You’ll Do
- Live and breathe the global soccer conversation, staying ahead of breaking news, emerging storylines, viral moments, players, clubs, leagues, tournaments, and broader soccer culture.
- Ideate, produce, edit, and publish original social-first content for Unfiltered Soccer and Style of Play across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, X, Threads, and emerging platforms.
- Identify, source, and package high-potential UGC from across the soccer ecosystem, using fan moments, player content, matchday culture, and internet trends to drive reach, engagement, and follower growth.
- Create memes, reactive content, trend-driven videos, graphics, and other highly shareable formats that allow our brands and talent to participate organically in the soccer conversation.
- Develop content that extends beyond traditional podcast cutdowns, leveraging talent voices and expertise to create original social franchises, reactions, explainers, rankings, debates, and culturally relevant moments designed specifically for social audiences.
- Independently edit polished, platform-native short-form video with a strong understanding of hooks, pacing, captions, sound, storytelling, and retention, with minimal oversight required from concept through final delivery.
- Monitor soccer news and social conversation in real time and proactively identify opportunities where our shows, talent, and channels should participate.
- Understand the nuances of different soccer audiences — from USMNT and USWNT supporters to Premier League, Champions League, MLS, NWSL, international soccer, and the broader global game — and tailor content accordingly.
- Support real-time matchday and breaking-news coverage, quickly turning developments into compelling social content while maintaining editorial accuracy.
- Capture point-and-shoot behind-the-scenes content at live shows, production shoots, matches, events, and other on-site activations, with an instinct for identifying candid and personality-driven moments that will perform on social.
- Work directly with talent on-site to capture original vertical video, social concepts, reactions, interviews, and other platform-specific content.
- Support organic audience-growth strategies, including collaborations, UGC, community engagement, cross-promotion, talent amplification, and other opportunities to expand reach and attract new followers.
- Optimize content for searchability, discoverability, and platform performance, incorporating relevant keywords, metadata, SEO principles, and platform best practices.
- Execute sponsored and branded social content while ensuring deliverables meet creative, editorial, and contractual requirements.
- Analyze content performance to understand what is driving views, retention, engagement, shares, and follower growth, and translate those insights into future programming decisions.
- Collaborate closely with Social, Production, Editorial, Marketing, Design, and Sales while maintaining the ability to work independently and move quickly when opportunities arise.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in social media, digital content creation, video production, editing, or a related role, preferably within sports, media, or entertainment.
- Deep knowledge of and passion for soccer is essential. Candidates should have a strong understanding of the global soccer landscape and be able to confidently
- identify the players, clubs, leagues, storylines, and cultural conversations that matter to fans.
- A demonstrated understanding of soccer internet culture, including memes, fan communities, UGC, trends, creator content, and the types of moments soccer audiences are likely to share.
- Strong social-first creative instincts with a portfolio demonstrating the ability to create engaging, timely, and highly shareable sports content.
- Advanced video editing and production skills, with experience using Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and/or other professional social editing tools.
- Ability to independently take content from idea → production → edit → publish without requiring significant creative oversight.
- Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, X, and Threads, including platform-specific formats, algorithms, audience behaviors, and growth strategies.
- Comfortable shooting high-quality social content using a phone or lightweight camera setup in fast-moving, on-location environments.
- Strong editorial judgment and the ability to move quickly around breaking news without sacrificing accuracy.
- An eye for viral content and an understanding of why people stop scrolling, watch, comment, and share.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and operate effectively within the fast-moving, 24/7 news cycle of soccer and social media.
- A proactive self-starter who identifies opportunities rather than waiting for assignments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including experience working directly with producers, editors, executives, and high-profile talent.
- Experience working with high-profile talent while maintaining professionalism and sound judgment.
- A calculated risk-taker who is comfortable experimenting with new formats, trends, and creative approaches while protecting the voice and reputation of each brand.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed, particularly around major matches, tournaments, live events, and breaking news.
The base salary compensation range for this role is $72,000 to $90,000.
