Your role
At Itineris, we are building a lightweight, scalable platform that will serve as the technical foundation for our growing portfolio of Insights and AI-enabled solutions.
We are looking for a hands-on Software Architect or Senior Software Engineer ready to grow into an architecture role. You will operate at the intersection of software engineering, platform development and solution architecture, with a strong focus on backend development. You will help define the architecture, but more importantly, you will translate architectural concepts into working software and reusable platform components.

We are looking for a hands-on Software Architect or Senior Software Engineer ready to grow into an architecture role. You will operate at the intersection of software engineering, platform development and solution architecture, with a strong focus on backend development. You will help define the architecture, but more importantly, you will translate architectural concepts into working software and reusable platform components.
What will you do?
As part of the team, you will:
- Design and build backend components in Python/.NET that form the foundation of our platform.
- Help shape the software architecture of our Insights and AI platform.
- Translate architectural concepts into concrete, working technical solutions.
- Develop reusable platform components that can support multiple Insights solutions.
- Create and validate proofs of concept to test architectural and technical approaches.
- Build technical components and lightweight adapters where needed.
- Design and implement cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure.
- Work with Infrastructure as Code to ensure repeatable and scalable deployments.
- Help establish common platform capabilities that support requirements around areas such as compliance, including the European AI Act.
- Prepare mature solutions for handover to the Azure Engineering Team for production management.
- Occasionally join customer discussions to provide technical expertise, while remaining primarily focused on the platform and its internal development.
What we're looking for
You are a strong software engineer who enjoys thinking beyond an individual application.
You combine hands-on development skills with architectural thinking and like turning concepts into solutions that actually work.
Ideally, you bring:
- 5+ years of relevant experience in software engineering, platform development or a related technical role.
- A strong background in backend software development, preferably with Python/.NET.
- Experience designing software components and thinking about architecture, scalability and reusability.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Azure platform services.
- Experience with cloud deployments.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code.
- The ability to develop and validate technical concepts through proofs of concept.
- The ability to take technical ownership and provide direction to other engineers.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Preferably, you are based in Belgium and able to regularly work from our office.
- Experience with Data & AI-assisted development.
- Experience building shared platforms, frameworks or reusable components.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps.
