Job title: Software Builder Location: Malaga Hours: 37.5 hours Working pattern: Hybrid, 3 days per week in the office careers.asafe.com Are you a Software Builder who already works with AI agents and wants to own real production outcomes? At A-SAFE Digital in Malaga, we are building the Rails 8 platform that powers sales, service, catalog, orders and integrations for a global manufacturer. This is not a traditional software developer role: we build with Claude Code, write clear specs, direct agents, review critically and take responsibility for what reaches production. How you will make an impact You will build with agents, not by hand, orchestrating Claude Code and similar coding agents across parallel branches to deliver high-quality software. You will own features end to end, taking work from a written spec through to a merged, tested and deployed PR. You will write specs that agents can execute, turning fuzzy goals into precise, testable instructions that become the contract for delivery. You will verify relentlessly, reviewing code from yourself, teammates and agents, and knowing the difference between “it runs” and “it is correct”. You will bring strong engineering judgement, making decisions on architecture, trade-offs, data models and integration design. You will keep production healthy, using tests, CI gates, observability and clear ownership to ensure what you ship is reliable. You will work in an AI-native engineering environment, where Claude Code is the daily driver and the route from idea to production is short. What we are looking fo r Daily, practical experience using AI agents to build software, with clear opinions about where they help, where they fail and how to keep them on rails. Strong engineering fundamentals, with the ability to reason about systems and critically review code because your job is to judge output, not simply generate it. Spec and review discipline, including the ability to turn an unclear goal into a precise spec and catch almost-correct bugs that may pass tests but break in production. A strong ownership mindset, with a preference for owning one outcome end to end rather than being handed a list of disconnected tasks. Comfort across backend and frontend development, with Rails experience as a strong advantage. Experience working with production engineering practices such as tests, CI, PR-first workflows, observability and deployment ownership. A collaborative approach, suited to small pods, fast feedback and close working with product, engineering and business stakeholders. Nice-to-haves Rails 8 and Hotwire experience in production, including Turbo and Stimulus. Integration experience across ERP, CRM, EDI, webhooks or similar business-critical systems. Experience with MCP or agent-driven systems beyond a demo. IoT or hardware-adjacent curiosity. Exposure to PostgreSQL, Packwerk, Sorbet, ClickHouse, AWS, Kubernetes/EKS, Terraform, Helm, GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Playwright or Sentry.
