Role Description

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Full Stack Engineer to join an established development team delivering a secure, cloud-based knowledge tool. The product brings together requirements, decisions, technical thinking and papers, making information easier to search, share and use across working groups.

You will contribute as an experienced individual engineer within a small blended team that includes engineers, a Technical Lead and a Scrum Master. This is a delivery-focused role rather than a formal team-lead position. You will work from an agile backlog, collaborate daily with the wider team and delivery stakeholders, and take ownership of full-stack development using JavaScript, React and Node.js.

A significant part of the upcoming roadmap involves AWS. The successful candidate will help scale the product, improve its effectiveness and deliver cloud-based requirements in line with the technical roadmap. You will be comfortable working independently, joining an active project quickly and operating respectfully with a range of customer stakeholders in a security-conscious environment.

Security requirement

The role is based in a secure customer environment. Applicants must hold the required customer DV clearance and satisfy the associated eligibility requirements.

Location

London. Permanent hybrid role with a minimum of three days each week on the customer site. The secure site restricts personal devices and company laptops. A London-based candidate is preferred because regular on-site attendance is required.

Key Responsibilities:

Software delivery

• Design, build and enhance full-stack product features using JavaScript, React and Node.js.

• Deliver work from the agile backlog in line with agreed requirements and the technical roadmap.

• Contribute to cloud-based development, including upcoming AWS-focused work.

• Help scale the knowledge tool and improve its overall effectiveness.

• Develop and integrate services and APIs where required by the product.

Team and delivery collaboration

• Collaborate daily with engineers, the Technical Lead, Scrum Master and Delivery Manager.

• Participate actively in daily stand-ups and other agile ceremonies.

• Work collectively with the team to refine and deliver requirements.

• Contribute within a blended partner and customer team while maintaining strong working relationships.

Secure customer delivery

• Work effectively on a secure London customer site for at least three days each week.

• Follow the working practices and restrictions of a secure environment, including limitations on personal devices and company laptops.

• Engage professionally and respectfully with a range of customer stakeholders.

Essential Competencies

• Strong hands-on software engineering experience across front-end and back-end development.

• Demonstrable expertise in JavaScript, with practical React and Node.js experience.

• Solid AWS fundamentals and experience contributing to cloud-based delivery.

• Ability to work independently, take ownership and become productive quickly with limited support.

• Experience working with agile backlogs and participating in agile delivery ceremonies.

• Collaborative communication and stakeholder skills, including the ability to work respectfully in a customer-facing environment.

• Good security awareness and experience operating in a controlled or secure environment.

• Required customer DV clearance and the ability to satisfy associated eligibility requirements.

• Ability to work on customer site more than the minimum three days when delivery needs require it.
