About the Opportunity:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Software Developer based in Ljubljana, Slovenia. You will join our Software Development team, designing, building and maintaining solutions across the Transoft product portfolio.

This role involves designing, building and maintaining new and existing web applications, developing robust backend services, RESTful APIs, database solutions and application architecture. Working with Product Managers, developers and clients, you’ll turn requirements into secure, reliable, high-quality software and ensure seamless integration between backend services and front-end interfaces.

NOTE: This is a hybrid role where you will be expected to work a minimum of 2 days per week in the Ljubljana office.

In this role, you will be expected to:

• Design and implement software features across front-end and back-end applications.
• Develop, maintain and enhance APIs, services and database structures.
• Maintain and improve existing products while contributing to the development of new software solutions.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and project teams to gather requirements, define solutions and estimate project timelines.
• Perform testing, debugging and optimisation to support software performance, security and reliability.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation and contribute to high standards of code quality.
• Work directly with clients and users when required, including supporting meetings, training and pre-sales activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement within our agile software development processes.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders across the business to deliver against project objectives.

About You

You will ideally have:

• 5+ years' relevant software development experience, with a strong background in backend development, including software design, APIs and databases.
• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience with Java and .NET development.
• Experience of REST APIs, microservices, SQL/PostgreSQL and database design and administration.
• Hands-on experience of Docker environments on Linux.
• Some front-end knowledge, which may include Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript and HTML/CSS.
• Used tools like Maven, GitLab, Jenkins
• An understanding of agile software development methodologies like Scrum.
• Broader knowledge of IT architecture, security and networking.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Experience of software testing, debugging, optimisation and maintaining high-quality code.
• Linux administration knowledge.
• Experience with Java microservice frameworks such as Quarkus or Dropwizard.
• Experience with Keycloak, Cassandra DB, Nginx or Traefik or Caddy
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure and CI/CD practices.
• Proficiency in English.
