SinaLite is a leading wholesale trade printer and custom packaging provider, serving 20,000+ print businesses, resellers, and entrepreneurs across Canada and the US. With 26 years of printing experience and over $45 million invested in cutting-edge print technology, we help our clients maximize their print profits, and we’re just as invested in helping our own team grow. We were named a 2025 Regional Finalist in Canada’s Best Managed Companies Program, and we’re looking for a Software Development Manager to help us keep raising the bar.
Compensation: $145,000 - $180,000 CDN
Location: 335 Steelcase Rd East, Markham, ON (Hybrid, minimum 2 days in office)
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- Health & Wellness: Comprehensive health insurance and paramedical coverage for you and your loved ones, because your wellbeing comes first.
- Comfort + Convenience: Casual dress code and on-site parking, so you can focus on doing great work.
- The Sky’s the Limit: Clear pathways for growth and advancement. We celebrate ambition and back it with opportunities to move up.
- Supercharge Your Development: Access to company-sponsored learning opportunities to expand your skills and broaden your professional horizons.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Lead the team that builds and runs the software behind SinaLite, our B2B wholesale print platform, and Willowpack, our flexible-packaging and folding-carton manufacturer, including our PO-to-press system, pricing engine, and customer portals.
- Own intake and prioritization for all software work, including leadership requests, maintain a ranked roadmap tied to quarterly OKRs, and run the project portfolio with committed dates, weekly status, and post-mortems on major launches.
- Partner with Operations, Customer Service, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Data/BI to agree scope and sign-off, and resolve conflicting requests before they reach developers.
- Own architecture decisions, the API roadmap, and write access to the system of record, and lead the pragmatic move of functionality from our legacy order platform to Forge, our modern application platform.
- Deliver a single pricing API and costing engine that reconciles to actual production cost, feeds daily P&L reporting, and makes pricing and promotions measurable on margin.
- Drive adoption of the Willowpack quote-to-PO portal, and deliver inventory, MRP, scheduling, and traceability tools that Operations trusts and uses, supporting SQF certification.
- Make AI-assisted development standard practice, and expose core business logic through well-governed APIs and MCP endpoints so other teams and AI agents can use it safely.
- Lead and grow our development team, with clear career paths, documentation, and cross-coverage so no system depends on one person.
- Establish SOPs before build and measure adoption after launch. A feature that is not used is not done.
- Spend regular time on the production floor, with on-call or after-hours support for production systems when required.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 7+ years building production software, including 3+ years leading a development team that shipped business-critical systems.
- Experience with ERP, MRP, inventory, scheduling, pricing, or order-management systems in manufacturing, print, packaging, or a comparable operations-heavy business.
- Hands-on enough to review code, make architecture calls, and unblock developers, with comfort across legacy codebases, modern stacks, APIs, and e-commerce platforms.
- Practical, current use of AI coding tools and agentic workflows in a team setting.
- Proven ability to manage a multi-project portfolio across departments, balance competing priorities with senior leaders, and deliver systems that operations teams adopt.
- Direct, data-driven communicator who builds trust with everyone from executives to production floor staff.
- Assets: Magento, NetSuite (or comparable ERP integration), and traceability or food-safety (SQF) systems experience, as well as experience incrementally modernizing a legacy system while it stays in production.
