One of our clients in Reston VA needs a Software Engineer for a permanent position. Position: Software Engineer Location: Reston VA (Hybrid) Position Type : Permanent position Travel: Some travel may be required Job Description: We are seeking a talented Mid-Level Software Engineer to join our growing team in Virginia. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in backend software development, cloud-native application development, and data engineering using modern AWS technologies. This role requires expertise in Node.js, Python/PySpark, Apache Spark, PostgreSQL, SQL optimization, and AWS services to design, develop, and maintain scalable applications and data pipelines. If you enjoy building cloud-based solutions, optimizing large-scale data processing, and working in an Agile environment, we'd love to hear from you. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js and JavaScript. Build and optimize cloud-native applications leveraging AWS services. Develop ETL and large-scale data processing pipelines using PySpark, Apache Spark, and AWS Glue. Design, optimize, and maintain PostgreSQL databases, including indexing, partitioning, and query performance tuning. Develop RESTful APIs, integrations, and workflow automation solutions. Utilize AWS services including Lambda, S3, RDS, EventBridge, and Step Functions. Deploy and manage applications within Docker and containerized environments. Troubleshoot production issues and support application deployments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams following Agile development methodologies. Participate in code reviews and contribute to software design and architecture discussions. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum 4+ years of professional software engineering experience. Preferred Skills: Experience supporting Federal Government projects. Active Public Trust Clearance. Experience building scalable enterprise applications in AWS environments. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
