Software Engineer

A large healthcare technology business is looking for an experienced technical leader to join the team. This role focuses on driving architectural excellence across a diverse software landscape, balancing long-term technical health with immediate delivery goals. You will play a pivotal part in modernising systems and integrating advanced technologies into core product lines.

What you'll be doing

• Defining scalable and secure architectures across desktop and cloud-native environments, including C++, Java, and Kubernetes.

• Leading modernisation initiatives to transition legacy systems toward cloud-native and AI-integrated architectures.

• Documenting architectural decisions and roadmaps to provide clear direction for the entire engineering organisation.

• Coaching engineers and leads while establishing reusable patterns and reference implementations for the architecture community.

• Integrating advanced automation tooling and agentic workflows into system designs to maximise technological potential.

What we're looking for

• Extensive experience as a software or solution architect for large-scale distributed SaaS or enterprise systems.

• A strong academic background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Deep expertise in modern architectural patterns, including microservices, security-by-design, and event-driven integration.

• Proficiency across diverse technology stacks, specifically involving C++, Java, Python, and cloud environments.

• Proven ability to leverage advanced coding tools and AI-driven workflows to enhance software engineering processes.
