We’re strengthening our Engineering team and welcoming another Software Engineer to the team. So first things first, what’s the developer experience like?

With the rapid development of agentic coding tools we have invested heavily in experimentation to find what tools work for us. Every engineer is provided subscriptions to leading agentic coding agents and is encouraged to try new tools regularly.

We actively deploy agents within our SDLC to help us ensure quality while maintaining velocity and are looking for engineers that want to help solve the current problems agentic development poses.

Our product is built with Python/Django + ReactJS (with TypeScript).

An internal component library helps us build efficiently and consistently as well as provides coding agents with solid design guidelines to work within. We follow TDD, ensuring every PR has accompanying tests to make sure our quality doesn't slip and are investing in agent-driven exploratory testing. Additionally, our mobile app is built using ReactNative which allows us to easily switch between our client-facing applications without a language/framework jump.

On the backend, there is a micro-service architecture that drives our key features. We make heavy use of AWS, and codify our entire infrastructure with Terraform to ensure any engineer can easily make infrastructure changes that are safe and reviewed.

Across all of our services, we have really invested in our CI/CD pipelines and the developer experience around them. We are routinely pushing to production multiple times a day and have clear visibility of the changes in each release and the quality of these.

In general, we value our developer experience because we believe that the best engineering teams are measured by their ability to deliver quality at pace.

Your impact:

We’re looking for a Mid-Level Full-Stack Engineer who wants to build things that genuinely matter.

At Weel, we’re on a mission to make business spending radically simpler - Every expense, complete. We’re already trusted by thousands of businesses, and as we scale, there’s a lot more to build.

You’ll work across our product, solving real customer problems and turning ideas into software that is fast, reliable and genuinely useful. One day you might be deep in a tricky backend problem; the next, you could be shaping a new customer-facing experience. We’re looking for someone who enjoys that variety and wants to understand the why, not just write the code.

We care about engineers who take ownership, ask questions, challenge the way things are done and keep getting better. You don’t need to know everything - we want someone who is curious, learns quickly and is excited to contribute.

You’ll work closely with our Senior Engineers and Head of Engineering, with plenty of opportunity for mentorship, technical growth and increasing ownership. You’ll also be part of a genuinely cross-functional team, working alongside Product, Design and QA to take ideas from problem → solution → production.

Skills we’d love you to bring along:

• 2-5 years of frontend and backend exp., preferably in a start-up or scale-up environment

• Working experience with React (Typescript), Python, Django or similar

• Familiarity with testing tools like Pytest and React Testing Library

• Experience working with and managing a cloud provider, such as AWS (we use a variety of services such as ECS, RDS, EC2, CloudWatch, Elasticache etc.)

• Experience with AI-integrated development environments such as Cursor, Codex or Claude Code integrated skills and MCPs

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders

• Dedicated and resilient individual to support Weel in achieving the company goal of providing our customers with the best product and experience

• Experience working with software engineering best practices such as test-driven development and code review processes

Bonus Points

• Experience with Chalice, Terraform or CloudFormation

• Experience with NextJS
