About Your New Employer

• Join this company's infrastructure engineering organisation and work on platforms that help securely manage mission-critical traffic for hundreds of millions of users worldwide.
• Work directly on global edge and traffic infrastructure at significant scale.
• Use modern technologies including Envoy, HAProxy, IPVS, eBPF, WAF, Rust and Go.
• Help optimise security platforms, reduce architectural debt and modernise critical legacy systems.
• Collaborate closely with Core Infrastructure and other engineering teams.

About Your New Job

• Build and optimise traffic infrastructure using technologies such as Envoy, HAProxy, IPVS, eBPF and WAF platforms.
• Analyse existing systems and address operational issues, incident follow-ups and technical debt at their root cause.
• Investigate complex networking and traffic issues across live production systems.
• Contribute to the migration and modernisation of large-scale legacy infrastructure.
• Respond to customer questions and triage technical issues through team Slack channels.
• Develop and maintain runbooks, engineering documentation and feedback loops.
• Work independently while communicating effectively with colleagues across different time zones.

What Skills You Need

• At least 5 years of industry experience in software design, development and algorithm-related solutions.
• At least 5 years of experience programming in C++, Go, Rust or a similar systems programming language.
• Experience developing large-scale distributed systems and databases.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols and systems, including TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS and eBPF.
• Experience migrating large-scale, business-critical legacy systems and working with legacy codebases.
• The ability to independently triage complex technical issues and identify sustainable, root-cause solutions.
• A strong focus on code quality, edge-case testing, operational excellence and documentation.
• Experience building or managing traffic infrastructure using open-source technologies such as Apache Traffic Server, HAProxy or Envoy.
• Experience working with traffic systems across CDNs, load balancers and routing platforms.
• Knowledge of WAF implementations, including ModSecurity or Coraza.
• Experience with rate-limiting systems, DDoS mitigation and TLS/mTLS termination at scale.
• Experience working with production systems and live traffic in highly distributed environments.

What’s on Offer

• €65,000 - €76,000 Annual Salary
• 9-month Temporary Contract
• Hybrid Work - Three Days in the office per week
