Software Engineer - AI Integration - Fixed Term Contract - 12 months

TD SYNNEX’s European Digital Marketing Agency is looking for a hands-on Software Engineer to help build reliable services, integrations and user-facing features for our AI-enabled internal tools and workflows.

This role would be suited to a pragmatic engineer with a strong grounding in good software-engineering principles, who can independently deliver clearly defined features, while continuing to develop their expertise across AI, cloud and full-stack engineering.

You will combine strong engineering discipline with an open, collaborative approach, communicating clearly and translating technical considerations for different audiences.

You will work with technical and non-technical stakeholders across our European agency environment to turn ideas and business needs into secure, scalable and production-ready capabilities.

What You'll be Doing

• Design, build, test and maintain backend services and APIs, primarily using Java.

• Develop accessible, user-facing features using TypeScript and React.

• Use Python for analytics, internal tooling and automation.

• Integrate backend services with foundation-model APIs and third-party agentic platforms.

• Maintain clear, reliable and type-safe contracts between backend and frontend components.

• Apply appropriate testing, validation, error handling, observability and fallback behaviour.

• Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation and the continued development of engineering standards.

• Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to shape requirements and deliver production-ready solutions.

• Support continuous improvement by evaluating emerging technologies pragmatically and applying them where they add clear value.

What You'll Bring

• A degree in a relevant STEM discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• Strong programming fundamentals in Java or another statically typed language.

• Experience with JavaScript and modern web-development fundamentals.

• A sound understanding of relational databases, data modelling and SQL.

• Experience using Git, Docker, automated testing and common software-development workflows.

• Familiarity with AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code or comparable tools.

• Strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills.

• The ability to take ownership of defined work, contribute to technical design and deliver to an agreed standard.

Desirable

• Experience with Spring Boot, TypeScript and React.

• Familiarity with AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, S3 and RDS, or comparable cloud services.

• Exposure to Snowflake, Redis or similar technologies.

• Experience working with foundation-model APIs, structured outputs, tool calling, retrieval-augmented generation or agentic frameworks.

• Understanding of API design, CI/CD, application observability and production support.

• Awareness of the security, privacy, reliability and cost considerations associated with AI-enabled applications.

• Experience working in a digital, marketing, agency or other fast-paced delivery environment.
