Software Engineer — Data Middleware (Hybrid/Remote Eligible + Internship Eligible)

BDAS is seeking a Software Engineer to help build and scale IDDMF (Intelligent Data-Driven Middleware Framework) — our proprietary, patent-pending middleware architecture for telemetry and flight-test environments. You'll work on real-time data ingestion, normalization, serialization, enrichment, and egress pipelines that support defense, aerospace, and commercial clients.

Location: Boulder, CO (Hybrid/Remote-eligible)

Responsibilities

• Design and build high-throughput data ingestion pipelines for heterogeneous telemetry sources
• Develop protocol- and format-agnostic middleware components (IRIG 106, TmNS, MQTT, gRPC/REST)
• Integrate sensor/DAQ hardware (e.g., enDAQ) into data pipelines
• Collaborate with data science team on closed-loop AI/ML optimization integration
• Support deployment across cloud, on-prem, and edge environments

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• Experience with backend development (Python, Go, or similar)
• Familiarity with real-time data processing and API design
• Bonus: experience with telemetry, aerospace, or defense systems
