THE OPPORTUNITY: At Clari + Salesloft, our Software Engineer II, DBE will be a key contributor to our company’s success. You will join our fast-growing and high-performing Infrastructure team, focused on ensuring the stability and performance of our DataHub—the core of our Revenue Operations Platform. We are looking for an engineer who is passionate about database reliability, cloud automation, and data integrity, and who is eager to work on leading-edge technologies to scale our data systems to meet massive ingestion demands. On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible to: Implement and Maintain: Support the scaling of our RDBMS (Postgres, MySQL, Amazon Aurora) and NoSQL systems (Cassandra, MongoDB) through proactive monitoring and maintenance. Execute Automation: Assist in building and maintaining automation and tooling (Infrastructure as Code) to reduce toil and streamline database deployments. Operational Support: Participate in the database "backbone" operations, including managing backups, performing restores, and supporting high-availability (HA) configurations. Monitor and Troubleshoot: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in production and non- production environments to ensure 24/7 reliability. Collaborate and Learn: Work closely with senior engineers and product teams to implement database schema changes and follow established best practices for scalable distributed systems. Data Integrity: Ensure our data resources are protected and leveraged efficiently through consistent application of security standards and replication monitoring. As a member of the Platform Operations Infrastructure Team, you are a resilient learner and problem solver. You have a solid grasp of the engineering lifecycle and are comfortable working in an Agile environment. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR: We are seeking a Software Engineer II, DBE to provide essential support to our database platform and infrastructure. THE TEAM: Clari + Salesloft's Platform Operations Infrastructure organization builds systems and tools to enable engineering velocity in a reliable manner. We partner with engineering teams to establish standards, improve reliability, and increase cost-efficiency. This is a great opportunity to contribute to a team scaling cloud infrastructure to meet high demand and rapid growth. Our Database Engineering Team consists of people passionate about solving customer problems and who remain calm in the face of technical challenges. THE SKILL SET: 5+ years of experience managing or supporting cloud-based database systems (AWS/GCP). Core Database Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of RDBMS (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and experience with NoSQL systems (MongoDB or Cassandra). Infrastructure as Code (Basic): Experience using or modifying automation tools such as Terraform or Ansible. Scripting: Proficiency in Python or Bash for automating routine administrative tasks. Operational Fundamentals: Understanding of database backups, replication, and high-availability concepts. SQL Proficiency: Solid SQL skills with the ability to troubleshoot and tune basic query performance issues. Scaling Awareness (Plus): Exposure to distributed systems or horizontal scaling concepts (e.g., sharding or read-replicas) is a plus. Communication: Strong written and verbal skills, with a collaborative mindset suited for a remote-first, distributed environment.
