About Us

At Todyl, we're on a mission to make world-class cybersecurity and networking accessible to businesses of all sizes. Our cloud-native Security Platform brings together SASE, SIEM, Endpoint Security, GRC, MXDR, and more into a unified, single-agent solution purpose-built for MSPs, MSSPs, and mid-market IT professionals.

We're a fast-growing, innovative cybersecurity company focused on simplifying complex security challenges and helping our partners protect their customers against an evolving threat landscape.

Our success is driven by a team that values collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. We move quickly, solve complex problems, and take ownership of the technology we build. At Todyl, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, tackle challenging technical problems, and help shape the future of cybersecurity.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer II or Senior Software Engineer to build the software that runs on our customers’ Windows, macOS, and Linux devices.

You will develop our Go-based endpoint agent and its platform-specific integrations, delivering networking and security capabilities that must work reliably across diverse customer environments. The work involves operating-system APIs, background services, networking, concurrency, and production troubleshooting.

You should bring strong systems-programming experience in at least one operating system and the ability to independently deliver well-scoped features and resolve difficult defects. Experience building endpoint agents is valuable, but relevant experience with native services, networking clients, storage, device management, or other OS-integrated software is equally applicable. Expertise in all three operating systems is not required.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop and maintain our Go-based agent, including cgo integrations for platform-specific functionality.
  • Build and enhance agent capabilities supporting SASE and endpoint security.
  • Integrate with Windows, macOS, and Linux APIs for networking, processes, services, and other system-level functionality. Own well-scoped features and defects from investigation and design through implementation, automated testing, and release validation.
  • Diagnose production issues using logs, debuggers, traces, packet captures, and reproducible tests.
  • Improve reliability, resource usage, and behavior across operating-system versions and changing network conditions. Work with engineering and customer-facing teams to resolve escalated issues, communicate risks, and coordinate dependencies.
Required Skills & Experience
  • This is an hybrid/In-office role.
  • Typically 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, with demonstrated ownership of production software. Relevant depth and delivery experience matter more than a strict tenure cutoff.
  • Experience building and supporting software that interacts directly with operating-system APIs, such as native services, networking software, endpoint tools, or other systems-level applications.
  • Strong proficiency in Go, or substantial C, C++, or Rust experience with a willingness to work primarily in Go.
  • Practical understanding of concurrency, synchronization, process and thread behavior, resource management, and failure handling.
  • Ability to independently investigate unfamiliar code, identify root causes, and deliver tested, maintainable fixes.
  • Clear communication of technical decisions, tradeoffs, progress, and risks.
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, sockets, and VPN concepts, with experience investigating networking behavior.
  • Strong systems-programming knowledge on at least one of Windows, macOS, or Linux.
Level Expectations
  • At the Software Engineer II level, you can independently deliver well-scoped work, make sound implementation decisions, and recognize when to seek input.
  • At the Senior level, you can also turn ambiguous problems into practical designs, evaluate cross-platform tradeoffs, lead changes spanning components, and improve engineering quality through technical guidance and design reviews.
  • Level will reflect demonstrated scope, judgment, and ownership.
Nice to Have
  • Production experience with endpoint agents, VPN clients, device-management tools, or security products.
  • Experience with cgo or integrating Go with C/C++ libraries.
  • Cross-platform development and platform-specific networking or security APIs.
  • Socket programming using Winsock or BSD sockets.
  • C# or Swift experience.
  • Familiarity with SASE, EDR, or endpoint-security concepts.
  • Effective use of AI-assisted development tools, supported by testing and careful review of generated changes.
