Your mission

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join the Payments Tribe, a critical part of our platform powering the payment experience across channels. You will report to the Engineering Manager of the Tribe and work closely with eight engineers across two squads: Core Banking and Payments.

You will drive the enhancement of our platform by specifying, implementing, testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting the services provided to our customers. You will work across payment APIs, payment processing, reconciliation, and core banking systems.

This role combines technical craftsmanship, teamwork, and a product mindset within a Tribe that is central to both current and future projects for Lemonway. You will actively contribute to delivering our next-generation card payment stack for acquiring and issuing, as well as our cash management platform.

Your responsibilities

Technical craftsmanship

• Deliver features that can evolve, finding the right balance between code quality and delivery time.

• Review code with the Tribe’s best practices and architectural decisions in mind.

• Cultivate a continuous learning mindset by staying up to date with the latest ecosystem trends, experimenting with new patterns, and actively sharing your technical insights to elevate the Tribe’s engineering standards.

Domain ownership

• Take ownership of the products we develop and contribute to all stages of the development cycle, from specification to resolving production issues affecting our clients.

• Deep dive into our complex payment ecosystem. Question assumptions, challenge the status quo, and leverage your domain knowledge to build robust solutions.

• Understand the “why” behind the “what”: bridge the gap between technical implementation and business value, ensuring that our payment flows directly contribute to Lemonway’s operational success and client satisfaction.

Teamwork

• Collaborate closely with software, QA, and infrastructure engineers to solve technical challenges, as well as with product managers to deliver new features.

• Collaborate effectively with colleagues working from the office, remotely, and from nearshore locations.

• Strike the right balance between investigating independently and asking teammates for help, while remaining solution-oriented in your approach.

Your qualifications

• You are curious about emerging engineering tools, including AI-assisted development, and use them thoughtfully to improve productivity, quality, and learning.

• You have professional experience developing services with modern .NET and C#, and working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, RabbitMQ, Docker, and Kubernetes.

• You understand distributed systems and microservice architectures, and have applied approaches such as Domain-Driven Design and Hexagonal Architecture.

• You are fluent in French and have a good command of English, which is a strong asset in our international environment.

• Nice to have: Knowledge of payment processing in a regulated environment.
