Software Engineering Intern (Remote)

ATMET is a software company dedicated to building practical digital tools that simplify daily work for businesses. We focus on intuitive applications that help e-commerce merchants and event organizers streamline operations through AI and workflow automation.

Our core products include:

• Tarahib: A platform for digital invitations and event management.
• AtmetChat: A WhatsApp API and AI customer service solution for stores on Salla, Zid, and Shopify.

We aim to deliver accessible technology that enables users to run operations smarter and faster, with a strong emphasis on usability, high execution, and real-world impact.

We are looking for a motivated Software Engineering Intern to join ATMET. This is a fully remote internship open to candidates based in Saudi Arabia (Riyadh/Khobar/Remote) or working in compatible time zones.

We aren't looking for someone who has mastered every tool—we want a fast, curious learner who knows how to problem-solve and leverage modern tools to build things quickly. You will be working directly on production systems with real users, gaining direct exposure to end-to-end product development.

What you’ll get exposed to and work with:

• Frontend & Backend: Next.js, FastAPI, Python
• Data & Infrastructure: PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub Actions / CI/CD
• AI & Messaging: AI, API integrations, webhooks, WhatsApp API systems, and vector databases

• Build & Ship: Contribute clean, maintainable code to features powering our live production applications.
• Integrate: Help build and maintain API integrations, webhooks, and modern AI/e-commerce tooling (Salla, Zid, Shopify).
• Debug & Test: Test, debug, and optimize components to ensure stable execution and a smooth user experience.
• Collaborate & Learn: Work alongside product and engineering leadership to refine requirements, learn real-world engineering practices, and write solid technical documentation.

• Solid Fundamentals: Computer Science / Software Engineering background (ongoing studies or degree) with a strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and OOP principles.
• Core Technical Skills: Practical experience in at least one modern language (Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or Java). Familiarity with basic Web/API development and databases (SQL).
• Modern Tooling & AI-Assisted Development: Comfortable using version control (Git/GitHub) and leveraging modern AI coding assistants (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) to accelerate research and writing code.
• Problem-Solver & Self-Starter: Ability to unblock yourself, research solutions independently, and ask clear questions when needed.
• Remote-Ready: Strong written communication, reliable high-speed internet, and self-discipline to thrive in an async/remote workflow.

• Stipend: $200 / month
• Tooling Allowance: Dedicated AI Tools Budget (coverage for Claude code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT Plus, or equivalent software subscriptions to maximize your speed and capabilities)
