About the role

We are looking for a detail-oriented QA/Test professional who can translate Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) and user Personas into concrete and testable workflows. The Software Quality Assurance Lead will map out how different user types move through the system end-to-end, design test strategies that validate those journeys, and ensure the product behaves correctly across all critical paths, including edge cases, role-based variations, and cross-functional handoffs.

What you'll do

Workflow Discovery & Mapping

• Analyze PRDs, user stories, and Persona documentation to identify all relevant user workflows.
• Create visual workflow/process maps (e.g., flowcharts, swimlane diagrams, BPMN) representing each Persona's journey through the system.
• Identify decision points, branching logic, and system dependencies within each workflow.

Test Strategy & Design

• Design comprehensive test plans and test cases covering each workflow end-to-end, including happy paths, edge cases, and failure/error scenarios.
• Define acceptance criteria in collaboration with Product Managers and Business Analysts.
• Prioritize testing based on risk, frequency of use, and business impact per Persona.

Execution

• Perform manual (and where applicable, automated) testing across workflows, systems, and integration points.
• Validate cross-role interactions (e.g., how Persona A's actions affect Persona B's workflow).
• Test across different environments, browsers/devices, and permission levels as needed.

Defect Management & Reporting

• Log, track, and prioritize defects; work with engineering to validate fixes.
• Maintain traceability between PRD requirements, Personas, workflows, and test coverage.
• Provide clear status reporting on workflow test coverage and quality risk areas.

Continuous Improvement

• Recommend improvements to workflows based on testing insights (usability gaps, inconsistent logic, missing edge-case handling).
• Build/maintain a repository of workflow test cases and Persona-based test scenarios for reuse and regression testing.
• Collaborate with automation engineers to identify workflows suitable for automated regression testing.

Skills & experience

• Proven experience in QA/software testing, ideally with a focus on process/workflow testing rather than just feature-level testing.
• Strong ability to read and interpret PRDs, user stories, and Persona documents, and translate them into structured test scenarios.
• Experience with process mapping tools (e.g., Lucidchart, Miro, Visio, BPMN tools).
• Solid understanding of test case design techniques (boundary testing, equivalence partitioning, scenario-based testing).
• Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Zephyr, Xray).
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills — able to spot gaps in logic or missing scenarios.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration (Product, Engineering, UX).

Nice to have

• Exposure to workflow/BPM engines (e.g., Camunda, Pega, custom workflow engines) — especially relevant if your system has a workflow engine (this could tie into your "NG platform" / workflow-engine work referenced in other contexts).
• Basic knowledge of API testing or automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) to support scaling test coverage.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• AI-based test automation creation.
